Some research suggests that it's possible for every guy to leave some DNA. I haven't found anything that's real clear, as most science reporting websites are... well, they usually don't understand the studies well.

So my question is if you like to sleep around, do you ever feel like you're collecting DNA? Could this be a strategy for healthier offspring?

Not really. Even pre-AIDS, back in the good old days when no one used condoms and pregnancy was the biggest concern, I still don’t think I’m carrying around DNA from the 70’s. That would be some pretty groovy DNA, though. Or disco DNA, I don’t know, I forget now.

I feel like we've rebutted this research before... Is this this the study that was based on fruit flies? Or am I thinking of something else?

If it's the one I'm thinking of it had been posted on the red pill or similar and naturally some dude with a chip on his shoulder couldn't wait to post it in WI... Without reading it properly

Fetuses leave DNA behind in their expecting mother's brains. It takes sharing organs for several months. The research I've seen on this is credible. Sex partners doing the same? About as believable as a Nigerian Prince holding 5 million dollars for me.

No, not really. Because if they do, they never have kids. So the argument would be only people who would never pull out or use protection have kids - and that certainly isn't the case. What is very typically is that people who fuck a lot, and often use counter measures still end up with kids because they fuck a lot.

What does that have to do with whether or not foreign DNA is left behind? Did you know a vagina is not even particularly hospitable to semen?

Yes, I'm aware. It makes perfect sense that i should just freely give an endless home to every weak sperm.

I am so happy to be predominantly gay.

Collecting DNA?

Makes my cooch sound like a forensic pathologist. Or, the newest offering from Ancestry.com

*Whips out brand new gas chromatograph mass spectrometer*

I haven’t read the instruction booklet, but how hard can it be to identify different substances within a test sample by which complex mixtures of chemicals may be separated, identfied and quantified?

Honestly I don't give a shit.

I'm not making any babies anyway.

I'm not a sperm hoarder. Your question has been answered. Ya welcome.

That is not exactly how it works. That was a test you did not pass. I wanted to know if I made a vague statement that was only just technically true, if you understood that part of a woman's body (and the life cycle of sperm) well enough to refine my words.

A vagina is acidic. This has nothing to do with sperm selection. This is about disease prevention.

It is unclear how female orgasm impacts pH, but the presence of semen begins a countdown. Within 10 seconds, part of the vagina will adjust pH. It can go from as low as 4.3 to as high as 7.2, if my memory of the science is correct.

An acidity of 4.3 would take less than a minute to degrade sperm to the point of uselessness. Moreover, white blood cells arrive and begin attacking any foreign body, any at all, including sperm, within seconds. Luckily for semen they have a few layers of protection, because it can take as long as a week for them to get their shit together, fight through the cervical mucous, traverse the minuscule cervical os, and still have one shot in thousands of being among the hundreds to choose the correct fallopian tube. Only one tube presents an egg, and the egg signals its presence. Forcing sperm to choose is about quality sorting, not the woman's immune system. The immune system is always about disease prevention.

Sperm rely on fructose for energy. They cannot access this energy supply (which they bring with them) until they find the uterus and shed their protective layers. So, they move fairly slowly. Finding a fallopian tube lights a fire under them. In order to do find one, they must shed their protective layers. The ability of the man's semen production process to provide enough cholesterol and fructose to protect and feed the sperm, is about selection. For real, don't get it twisted.

If you want to leave your DNA behind forever in a woman's body, you will have to impregnate her with a male offspring. Only then will your mitochondrial contribution remain, and only after a specific stage of fetal development. You need to understand that the vagina is a miracle and a wonder. If your body wanted to attempt to leave DNA behind, that pussy would just obliterate it. Whatever the immune system left behind would be devoured by yeasts and bacteria.

The women here are well read on a number of subjects, and have a wide range of professional experiences. If you want to discuss science with us, you will have to actually understand the science, or be asking us to teach you. In this case, you are doing neither. It makes me wonder.

Ya I didn't read all that... deep diving off topic, don't care.

If you really don't care, you wouldn't have posted anything at all. And uh.. what was written was 100% on topic.

You're welcome for the responses. : unamused:

It was completely on topic, actually. I educated the reader on the basics of what exactly happens in the vagina when semen is deposited, what sperm actually endure once deposited there, and how they are prepared in advance for the journey. Through that discussion I demonstrated the only possible way a sexual partner can leave DNA permanently behind in a human female. Women are not fruit flies. You can't leave DNA behind in an acidic solution and expect it to survive. Every mystery show on television should have taught you that much.

It was a clarification of my previous post, but still a very simplified version of the story. I left a lot out and avoided overly technical/clinical language where possible. One might say I dumbed it down for you. One might.

You're just butt-hurt I called you out as being the sort who presents bullshit as fact without even an elementary understanding of the subject matter.

Again. You wanna talk science? Ask questions or come correct. There are no dummies over here, only boss broads.

LOL no. I’ve only been with two guys who I allowed to go in without a condom on.

Sure, but whether you let them leave anything behind or not doesn't mean you can't feel like you have a desire to bag a variety of men for their qualities. If no one feels that way, I'm not surprised. But Sometimes you got to ask somewhere, where people might talk about things that aren't family restaurant appropriate.
