I like my job because I love to keep learning and helping others. My BEST job I've ever had and truly love(d) is(was) being my kids mom...I have had so much fun raising them (heartache too) and I know I wouldn't be the person I am today had I not had been blessed with them!

I don't hate my job but I often think it is boring. I want to get back into IT work (specifically PL/SQL programming and Oracle database work), but all the jobs in that field are very senior level these days and generally won't consider me since I am high entry/low mid level. My skills are getting rusty from lack of use! I have not had an IT job since January.

Other people I have talked to who work in the IT field have similar problems finding work, but most of them are at a higher skill level than me so they find work a little sooner than I do. I consider going back to school, but the employers seem to want work experience rather than school. However, I am always being asked if I have any certifications, so I may be going back for that. I am also planning (unless something weird comes up) to go to tax school and learn to be a tax preparer. I think they place you in a job and I would have something then until April 15 of next year, at least.

My job is such an imposition on my life. I prefer masterbation and sleeping to the commute to and from, not to mention the time I spend @ work. Unfortunately I don't get paid for those other activities, so I guess I'll have to go to work tomorrow. School starts tomorrow as well, that'll make the commute suck even more.

I work for myself , flexible hours , no boss looking over my shoulder , always out & about , so it's pretty good . Learning all I can about investing in the stockmarket so I can give work away alltogether , but that's a while off yet .

I loathed my job and didn't fret when I lost it last year because the people I had to work with were all douchebags. I won't work a job unless it has some relevance to my background or is in the least bit interesting. I'd work in the city morgue as an attendant if I could because no one ever talks back.

Is not a poll supposed to give some options?

Is not a bear to shit in the woods?

Actually the first time I did this thread I forgot to click the poll button, so I closed the thread. When I redid it with the same thread title the poll did not work.

Listen here you putrid little scuzball (and I say this in the most loving way possible) Do not advertise as a poll if you are too stupid to created it as such. It is well well known that you know how to make polls so there is no excuse for this fiasco and your bear analogy shows how pathetically sad you really are since it had nothing to do with my question As per your comments I am only sending return fire to you for your insulting post.

tsk tsk. I did not advertise it as such. It was meant to be a poll, but there was a problem in the sytem that kicked out the poll and closed it. That's all. The bear thing was just a little joke, nothing to get so upset about.

"ahem"

I like my job, I work with the public, get to solve all kinds of creative problems of various kinds, and the people I work with are ok, they like me, my sense of humour., I am knowledgable about the products I recommend, and can do anything that is asked of me, efficiently, promptly and with courtesy.. My job however is kind of involved, more so than say, stacking shelves or folding knitwear, so why the hell am I only paid National Minimal Wage, amd why do Bank-holidays come out of my annual entitlement, and why can't people be polite and listen when I am giving the advice the ask for, why is it when I show a customer what they need after explaining to them how to use it specifically tailored to their requirement do they insist on buying something else they can't and shouldn't use and why can't anyone over 35 use a Chip and Pin machine without staring at it like a fucking Henry Moore!!!!!

but otherwise, it's ok...

I don't enjoy my jobs very much. I'm really doing all of them for the money, and I can't wait to be free from those responsibilities.

Health Coach: I'm a behaviorist in training, and it's really rather dull. When I was a clinician, I loved the experiential and emotional stuff. People make some real breakthroughs that way. In the meantime, I get the most joy out of working with individuals with chronic stress and depression problems. I think it's because the interventions to help lose weight, exercise more, stop smoking, etc., are all done the same way. The stress stuff, you get to hear what really eats people and you really get to know them. Too bad I can't do that stuff exclusively. Plus, my boss looks like a stuck up bitch, seriously.

Retail: I'm bored with it. I'm really on the fence, and I'd really consider leaving it behind. I have too many knowledge about jeans for my own good, though I am thankful that I've refined a sense of style for myself.

Waiting Tables: Sorry, it's the worst. Even if I fare okay money-wise, this job is so damn stressful and taxing, that it isn't worth it. You can probably Google something about servers and bad tips, and you'll hear...

Dream Jobs / Cool Jobs:
1. professor, sociology
2. researcher, psychology
3. researcher, family construction
4. social welfare
5. political consultant
6. aesthetician
7. life coaching
8. professional student :)

Housekeeping is a bitch. I quit. I loved the call centre, but that wouldn't work because of school. I love being a cashier, it is such an easy job. I'm also a full time student..
