Ordinarily, I like to join in with the grammar national-socialists. When it concerns lyrics, it has to be a very drastic abuse, or all bets are off. (My mixed metaphor for the day.) Lyrics and poetry have to be allowed some latitude. I really hate to think of what would happen if some dour old grammarian had final edit privilege over lyrics. "Scansion above all else, and grammar above scansion!"

Thank you. Diana Ross would be proud DC.

Dost thou know where thou art going?
Dost thou appreciate those things which life hast been showing to thee?
Where art thou going?
Dost thou know?

Dost thou receive
That for which thou art hoping
When ye look behind thyself
There art no door open
For what art thou hoping?
Dost thou know?

Once we were standing still in time
Chasing the fantasies
That filled our minds
You knew how I loved you
But my spirit was free
Laughing at the questions
Of which you once asked me

Looking back now at all we have planned
We let so many dreams
Just slip through our hands
Why must we wait so long
Before we will see
How sad are the answers to those questions.

Hmmm. It loses something in the translation.

Now, back to the OP... yes, I know where I'm going, I like most of the things life is showing me.

When your brain dies, you die. There is no knowledge to be gained when you are dead.

I'm just happy for every day. I made so much money this week

Ahem - to quote Prince:

There's a lady, 99 years old
If she led a good life, heaven takes her soul
Now that's a theory and if U don't wanna know
Step aside and make a way 4 those who want 2 go

Do you get what you're hoping for
When you look behind you there's no open door
What are you hoping for?
Do you know?.....

Please consult Miss Ross on this.

Hootie, Miss Ross does not do country western I'm afraid.

Earl, it was a joke. Miss Ross would do a lot if enough money was offered. According to another Supreme, she slept her way to the star of the act role.

Your post reminds me of this Bab's song.

I liked Flo. She had the rich tenor voice in the group. I have a whole Diana Ross album here somewhere. It was my mom's idea of the right gift for me. The woman always was the pits at picking gifts. I wanted a pony. She ran calling wild fire, she ran calling earl's a wild fire. She ran calling wiiiiilllllld fire........

Yeah, I had some relatives (in-laws actually) on my sister's side give me a CD of Broadway Show tunes as a Christmas gift. I was mortified. I mean I didn't even know these people that well. How did they know? Unless sis leaked it. Maybe your Mom knew about you too.

Flo was the full figured gal that passed away right? She had a good voice.

You would be the first monkey that ever rode a pony.

I have always liked music.
They used to have lots of monkies ride ponies in the carnivals. Are you being horsey with me?
