From "Defend Your Dollars Org (a subcategory of Consumer's Union - the advocacy and consumers' rights arm of Consumer Reports) is this piece which advocates for better (and free) access to our personal information, specifically our "credit score".

At present one can access their credit reports at no charge, but only once a year. Credit reporting agencies offer the "credit score" at an extra charge.
Here's a government official link to get your yearly report (wherein it says to avoid those "scam" sites and apps that start hitting you up for charges after a "trial period").
There are also scam "government" sites too, sites that have gov in their name, but actually they're gov.com or gov.org. If the last three letters in the address don't say .gov, - it's not:
