Anyone remember the chewing gum that had a liquid center? We used to call it 'cum-gum'.... peppermint and spearmint. Can't remember the product name !

OK, I was born in 1970, but the only thing I remember on this list is the gum. But we never called it that!!! LOL! I can't believe it. That's so funny. I do remember pop rocks. Amazing what a little girl will put in her mouth!!!

What are Space Food Sticks like? I mean, what's the texture? And do they taste like their flavor names? Because I LOVE that kind of thing.

Also, my sister came home from Pomona College with Abba Zabba vanilla taffy. Does anyone in CAlifornia know if this delectable dental-work destroyer still exists? And what about the chocolatey kind? Mmmmmmm... Taffy :sigh:

Space Food Sticks were especially chewy and sweet versions of today's Powerbars, except that they were shaped like Slim Jims. As I recall, the vanilla wasn't bad but the peanut butter was ghastly.

Isn't Laffy Taffy still around? How about Pixie Stix?

I was a huge fan of Jello 123, but it must obviously have been either radioactive or carcinogenic. I especially remember the Orange flavor.

I never actually ate one, but I still have the theme song embedded indelibly in my brain  In the 70s I was skinny.

I was a fan of Space Food Sticks though.

The theme to Figurines was taken directly from Tangerine, a big band hit from the 40s:

"My shape belongs to fiiiiig-uuuu-rines!"

Thank you, Mon Oncle!!

Glad to get the scoop on the PB flavor. I usually like Peanut Butter anything, but with these, I'll get the Vanilla, if anything (maybe the Chocolate).

I'll be in touch!

Thanks for your existence (clearly not referring just to your snackfood advice, though I do take noshing quite seriously  ).

Love Ya!

Not a snack food but about once or twice a year I drag out the old fondue pot and make cheese or meat and chocolate fondue and listen to old Melissa Manchester, Eagles and America music.

I recall the chocolate being my favorite. Regarding the texture, I'd call it more like an unnaturally soft Tootsie Roll--a little more gummy and mealy rather than chewy. I remember playing with them and squishing them into different shapes.

Some of you are dating yourselves.............lolllllllll Fizzies you could probably go back to the sixties for those. Flavored Alka Seltzer. How about Cherry Mash candy bars?
