I thought I stopped this years ago but was informed otherwise this morning. My partner told me he crawled into bed last night, listening to me mumble about astroturf and the governor of Arkansas. Obviously a nightmare. I have no recollection of this.

Anyone else here mutter in their sleep?

Yes, guilty as charged. I can't take Sudafed or Vicodin as they react as hallucinogenic type drugs in my system. I will not only murmur but talk, shout and channel deceased relatives.

I dunno. Who would you propose should sleep with me & find out? *nudge wink*
(Don't suggest my husband, he's usually asleep long before me, and yes, he sometimes says the strangest things in his sleep...)

I talk. I laugh and even wake myself up when I do.

Mutterings that aren't usually clear enough to make out, the occasional giggle, some sighs.

Actually, most of my posts on this site were written by me in my sleep. I am sometimes embarrassed in the morning when I find what I've posted overnight. You can tell when a post was sleep-written because it tends to go to the end of the street and turn right, and that's where I was sitting when most reports of looting are still contested and in my opinion you can always find some left at the back of the cupboard, but my father always said that it takes one to know one, and he should know, because he was one of the first things I find when I am driving to Chicago in bad weather is not to look for . . .

I mostly walk and, do other bizarre things in my sleep.I woke up once to find myself on the road,if I hadn't fallen on the edge of the road, I don't think I would've woken up. I have been found attempting to cook, and smoke in my sleep, and have been found on top of Mr. Ed,having sex!

I walked in my sleep when I was younger a few times. One morning I awoke on my sofa, sitting up, arms crossed in front of me, and legs stretched out in front with ankles crossed. Very unsettling. Maybe the copious amount of lager and ale consumed the night before had something to do with it. I distinctly remember burrowing myself under the covers in my bed when I came home.

I've been known to mumble but mostly hit the wall... I now have a pillow there because I used to wake up with strange bruises on my arms.

Once upon a time, I used to talk in my sleep regularly, and I was also a sleepwalker. I haven't been informed of doing either in the past couple years, though.

I can hold complete conversations with people while I am sleeping, as long as they ask questions which require short answers. I wasn't aware of it until about 15 when my Mom let it slip that she had asked me about something, which I didn't recall, then she confessed to talking to me while I was asleep sometimes.

Apparently, a few people on her side of the family do this.

My mom was that way too! If she came home after I was asleep, she'd come in and wake me up and talk to me for a few minutes... only problem is, I never woke up.

I have been known to talk in my sleep. I have in years passed been known to awake in a sitting position with legs crossed. ????
