Whoa.... that's expensive. I was paying the equivalent of $73.00 for ADSL with no limits and Sat TV and thought it was to much. I just switched fiber optic internet (50Mbps unlimited) and TV combined for about $42.00. :) Oh.. that includes a landline phone I'll never use as well.

Where do you live to get internet/phone so cheap? Qua service provider?

It seems like there are several business models that will also get screwed by this...such as Netflix? I'm certainly not knowledgeable about the net, but I would think there would be some corporate efforts to stop this in addition to individuals.

There are many big corporations, such as Google and Netflix, in opposition to the bill, and I would assume against charging on a usage basis as well, but what can they really do to stop it? I would think the ball is in the ISP's court since they provide the platform for all these companies to operate. Especially if all ISP's switch to this model...it will be incredibly hard to ever go back. 1 of the 4 big providers are expected to move to usage based charging in the next year or 2. It probably won't be long before the others follow
