My friends made fun of me at the gym today when they noticed that I trimmed my armpit hair (just did it yesterday). I tried telling them it was pretty normal, but they didn't agree at all.

I know this isn't a cock question, but figured it was an okay forum to ask.

    Am I weird?

Mods--can you move this post to the "clothing, underwear, and appearance" forum? Sorry I didn't see it before.

Yes, I do. I hate it when it gets long. I don't make it short, but I definitely trim it down some

Yes. I also cut the hair on my head regularly and shave my face every day.

I've been shaving my pit hair since I first saw it on guys in Central/Eastern Europe back in the early 90s. I tried it and liked it and have kept my pits smooth ever since. No one has ever said anything or commented on it.

I remember in HS my best friend didn't grow hair until our senior year. I think he didn't have pit hair til he was much older - wisps of hair was all he had! Lucky him.

Oddly, though I shave all my public hair, I don't trim armpit hair at all, nor leg or chest hair (excepting maybe those yucky ones growing near the nips).

Less sweat, more comfortable, more aesthetically pleasing.

Unless you are a model or actor why do you need to? esthetics? Hair is to wick your sweat away from your skin so you wont smell. Do it if it makes you happy and don't succumb to peer pressure but IMO stop trimming your pits and your pubes.

I definitely think you sweat less, and it directly relates to being more comfortable. The less hair you have, the less it rubs against your shirt. The less that happens, the less you sweat.

I definitely notice a difference of perspirating less when my armpits are trimmed.

Wouldn't you sweat more because there is less hair to catch it? Then it get on your shirt... I could be wrong though.

Well, the less hair, the less friction, the more freely air can get to your skin, etc.

I'm not talking about sweat showing through my shirt, I'm referring to just the amount I sweat in general.

I shave mine. Working in a gym and cycling several days a week being shaved in much more comfortable.

I trim mine about every other week. Keeping the hair short definitely cuts down on body odor. Shaving seems to me excessive. Won't that make a nasty sting when you apply deodorant?

I shave, or get waxed, all over - that includes arm pits, legs etc -before going on holiday as there will definitely be nudity and sun bathing involved.

The rest of the time I just shave my cock and balls.

I just started to trim my underarm hair. It was way to long.

I keep mine shaved. And I've noticed a change in that I sweat a lot less under my arms with my pits shaved. Applying deoderant with them shaved is actually a lot easier than with them hairy too. And doesn't leave any deoderant stains on my shirts either.
