When your cock skin is chafed or injured, I think Vaseline is good if you don't want to wait until it heals to jack off again. Otherwise, it is too thick & messy. But it's better than nothing if you really need lube!

Truth! Used it a few times when younger, but too messy...seemingly never washes fully away. Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion, however, the smells instantly gets me hard.
