Do You Wonder If You're A Sex Addict?

Not to be a buzzkill, but I wonder if I am a sex addict. I've gone online etc, and most of the people who are sex addicts seem to have destroyed their life or fucked up really bad because of it.... lost jobs etc...
For me, I just love reading about sex and dicks on here, xhamster, xtube etc pretty much every day, cam4 and chaturbate periodically and I am constantly checking out guys, cruising etc... I don't end up sleeping with them, but I probably would if the situation was right. I have a partner, and he knows I can't be monogamous, so we are open. I feel like I'm on the borderline and should probably get offline and read a book more, and stop looking at every man on the street as a sex object... what are your ideas and opinions on this? since i know most of us are somewhere between high sex drive and total perv.

There are many different forms of addiction. I mean that the normal case of a masturbation addiction is that the masturbator compulsively satisfies himself one or more times a day for many years. And it can't stand not masturbating for several days. I am the best observation object for this. I prefer to masturbate alone, whereby I am concerned with orgasm or sperm emptying.
For masturbation, I do not need any means to cause sexual arousal.
My additive is the masturbation itself and my penis, which I have modified optimally for masturbation (frenulectomy, meatotomy).
I am a heterosexual solo masturbator and like to look at penises. I prefer uncircumcised penises with frenulectomy, meatotomy and shaved. I'm also very interested in sounding and stretching the urethra. I'm not interested in homosexual practices and physical contact.:)

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with sex addiction, and your sexuality has nothing to do with it

I think the number of people that actually have a sex addiction is far lower that people seem to want to make appear. I honestly think it has become a weaponized buzzword, most oft equipped by butthurt individuals whom occupy the lower libido portion of their relationship and are seeking to shame their high libido partners into submission, or as a scapegoat for bad behavior for those that choose infidelity.
I think as an adult, as long as one can maintain some healthy level of homeostasis when it comes to employment, school, or social obligations than they should let their freak flag fly with reckless abandon. What that means is when the term is used(usually by the low libido partner) i think consideration need a to be first given to what is being deprived or regularly denied before it can be deemed accurate.

Well, there is such a thing, I think... for instance I work with a manager, who spends every cent he has on hookers or whatever girl he can have that night, to the point where he can't pay rent, keep in any relationship etc... for me it's more like, I just spend way too much time thinking about sex and cruising online etc... but it doesn't destroy my life, just wastes thousands of hours where i could be more productive, and happier

Dr. Drew uses a loose, but handy definition of an addiction (any addiction really_-- Does it interfere with your daily life, and do you continue to do it even when it has brought you negative consequences. As I said, that is very loose, but porn/sex addict (like gambling) is a mental addition as opposed to a physical dependency like drugs or alcohol so you need to define it a little different. For example: IF you got caught jack off at work, and it happens more than once....you might be a addict. If the lure of watching porn on your company computer (that they monitor) over takes your good sense,---you might be an addict... We had a guy at work use his company phone to send dick-pics! (yes, he got fired)

Everything in moderation…. I have a very healthy sex life that keeps up with my high sex drive.
I’ve often wondered due to the fact I don’t go in for relationships so my sex life is pretty varied and yes often more than one individual on the go at once.
However it doesn’t consume my life, I don’t put it before work or make excuses not to do things because of it. As a former gambling addict I know what it is to be addicted and the exacuses you make and tell yourself. My healthy sex life is completely different to that.

I'm a sex hobbyist.

Seriously though, we need to be careful with the word addiction and it's subsequent "treatments". When I was surfing... That was clearly an "addiction" it got in the way of school and work. When I was playing in rock bands, I lived it 24/7. It got in the way of work. When I got into snow skiing, every effort was towards that. WW Kayaking, MT biking... Same. Then when I focused on work... I worked 65 hours a week for at least a decade. Thru all of that I've been into sex 24/7. Yet, never had a drinking/drug addiction. So fuck... I just don't know.
