It's a really sad story. Poor guy must be severly psychologically disturbed. It's one thing to want rid of your manhood: Loads of guys (transsexuals, etc.) feel that way, but to do it in such a demonstrative way??? I don't think it was a transgender thing at all. To do it in a public place like that is such a desperate statement. Whoever it was aimed at will certainly not have missed it. It's similar to jumping off a building.
