Most of my gynecological visits have included a breast exam if I have not done one myself. I am asked how often I check, and I answer honestly; I frequently forget. So, they give me a thingy to hang in my shower (not happening) admonish me to test myself the same day of each cycle, and give me a quick check. My doc does NOT do this when I show up for a non-gyno visit. She only does this twice a year, during my gynecological exam.

I believe gynos do breasts exams everytime, correct me if I am wrong.

Nope. Not every time. Quite rarely actually in my experience. Only one gyno I've ever seen (who unfortunately moved, I really liked her) asked if I'd ever done one. I said no, so she showed me how to do self exams.

I've had to be seen by several gynecologists over the years... she was THE only one who ever did a breast exam on me.

I went to a gynaecologist yesterday and can confirm she did not touch my breasts or my butt.
lol glad to hear that. Só breast exam isn't frequent between you and your gyno? And about anal exam, you have never had anything concerning this fact?

My doctor is also my gynecologist. If I have a complaint that would require palpating or seeing up my rear, and I happened to actually be there for a gynecological exam by coincidence, this is the only exception of which I can think. No way should a gynecologist examine my rectum.
Even in this case, wouldn't it be better to look for a proctologist? Or you trust your gyno to do the work?

Right. What about anal exam, has your doc ever done anything?

I'm really surprised, since I was sure it was done everytime. When she did a breast exam on you, did she wear gloves?

My first gynecologist was an awesome lady. She never did a rectal exam on me but she had to on my mom because my mom had some complaints that needed further examination. She simply lubed up her gloved finger and pressed on her abdomen at the same time to see if she could feel any larger growths from that perspective. I was in the room with her. It took about 5 seconds and she was done.

She wasn't examining her rectum, she was trying to palpate growths or abnormalities from that angle behind the vagina and uterus.

I had this same gynecologist for years and she never did a rectal exam on me. But my mom was having issues I wasn't. But she didn't get a rectal exam in the way you picture a man would get one. She wasn't examining the rectum per se.

Each yearly visit I got a thorough breast exam by her as well. This was even when I was 18. And yes, they wear gloves. The person who gives mammograms also wears gloves.

Why so many odd questions and desires for detailed stories?

I was about to ask the exact same thing.

Kinda odd to keep asking for more and more details about what my lady-doc does/doesn't do?o_O

It would probably depend on the doctor and what their training was and who trained them. I see a lot more rectal stuff happening in my old, old school gynecological surgery books from the 1940s.

It's not unusual while a woman is being repaired after birth to have the doctor insert a finger anally to see if she tore through the vaginal fascia into the rectum. They also might do this while stitching to gain access to areas they might not be able to see otherwise.

While it's not common that it happens on the gynecology table, it happens and it's not considered unusual to those in the gynecological field.

My gyno is the same person as my general practitioner. The way my insurance works, I always have to see the general practitioner, called my primary care manager, before I can see a specialist of any kind, with the exception being a gynecologist or a dentist. So... Yes. I would be seeing her before a proctologist anyway.

They wear gloves. What is the purpose of this line of questioning? Gyno fetish? Latex fetish? Medical fantasy? Medical abuse fantasy? Did a friend of yours suspect she was abused?

Thanks for the detailed reply. I asked whether they wear gloves or not because since a breast is pure skin, maybe gloves weren't necessary.

Well, isn't what forums are all about? I'm sorry if there were too many odd questions, but that are curiosities I couldn't resolve asking a woman in person, it would be 100x weirder. So I came here.
