Does anyone believe it's okay for two straight guys to sleep in the same bed naked

I slept totally naked with two straight guys and there was nothing sexual about it.

A friend and I were backpacking on a rigorous trail in the high mountains. It was spring and a freak hailstorm hit. We pitched our tents for shelter and soon heard someone call out. It was an ill-prepared hiker in a cotton t-shirt and denim cutoffs. All his gear was drenched and he was shaking uncontrollably. We had enough backcountry experience to know he was hypothermic. Without missing a beat, we had him to strip off his wet clothing, got naked ourselves and bundled up in our dry sleeping bags together in one tent.

We had no hesitation in doing this. It may well have saved his life. Was there anything remotely sexual? No. It was nothing short of terrifying. His body was colder than any living thing I'd felt before or since.

He recovered and the next day we convinced him to stick with us and hike out to a nearby town where he could get some synthetic gear. The number of stories I have of clueless hikers is astonishing, but this one was nearly tragic.

Thanks for moving the reader’s minds beyond the sexual titillation of just being in bed with another guy. Your solution for dealing with hypothermia was dead on. Skin to skin contact and warming is key.

Check out the attached report from an Army Trainer. Hypothermia is a real threat and can occur in either cold or warm climates. Army Rangers have died after swamp training just by cooling down too soon.

Fascinating read, thanks for the link. The guy we helped out was unprepared on many levels: he was from the flatlands of Indiana in the US midwest and had never even seen mountains before attempting this challenging hike. On another hike in the Appalachian mountains, I met a woman who was helicoptered out in April with severe hypothermia when the weather took an unexpected turn for the worse.

I don't believe it's anything wrong with it at all... see people always want to equate male bonding like this as something sexual they like to equate nakedness to something sexual. If the two men our that comfortable with one another why not as long as it's nothing sexual behind it. No offense to any homosexuals I'm just 100% straight christian man
Ok, 100% Christian man, whu does your profile say 100% gay?

There have been several intense conversations on LPSG regarding being both Gay and Christian

With a bit of study, you will find that being gay, straight, or anything in between does not prevent a person from being a “ Christian believer”. Just be aware that most of the people in the world (about 80 percent) were born with a moderate to strong heterosexual attraction. It is not easy for them to believe that any other attractions or feelings can be “normal” or “right”.

As a result “traditional” Christian cultures have spent over two thousand years building and buying into a theology crippled by a number of false beliefs.

The next time you hear some “would-be Christian group” preaching that gays can’t be “Christian believers”, just make a mental note that they are working from a corrupt belief system. And they themselves may not be Christians due to the nature of their false beliefs.

I would highly recommend that everyone might learn from the sermons provided by Jeff Miner. They have value for everyone, believer, social activists or agnostic.

A gay man can be Christian but the church will do its best to make you feel second class. There is also the sinister ‘love the sinner, hate the sin’ stuff too.

Totally agree.
This might not be the discussion to get into the Christian / Gay thing, but it is OK with me if others are interested.
Just check out the link I provided to Jeff Miner. He is a gay, married (to a guy), minister with a back ground as a Baptist preacher and lawyer.

Um, maybe because not all Christians are right-wing Old Testament types.
There are many Christian denominations that are accepting of LGBTQ persons.
It’s the way they all need to evolve to survive. I’m sure some won’t evolve and will disappear in the West, at least.

I wasn’t focusing on the Christian part as much, more that their comment (100% straight) didn’t match their profile which says they are 100% gay. Seems like a pretty big discrepancy

People can be gay and Christian. Atheist makes more sense but each to their own.

Yes, but their profile says they were 100% gay, and their comment said they identified 100% straight. My question was about that discrepancy, not their religious affiliation

Again, wasn’t asking about that. Wanted clarification about whether they were 100% gay or straight, bc their profile and comment didnt match up. Idgaf about the Christian part
