no, the guy had his own Bar Mitva about 30+ years earlier.

Most people don't say "it's nice, this water" they say "the water is nice". I could also tell by his accent that he was from NY.

yep...all the time...the relative anonymity being a welcome change.

NY transplants to Miami Beach are peculiar if not irritating. It's like they are from another planet when they go down there. I was sunning myself on an empty stretch of beach and an older NY couple, pale as ghosts, came along with armfulls of beach stuff and where do you think they set up camp? Yes, 10 ft. behind me. What the fuck? And who eats gefilte fish on the beach?
