I don't know if the following statement is true or false, but it deserves the question:

My Dad, two of my other brothers developed delayed PTSD's from neonatal shocks, in the form of schizophrenias. [In] one of my cousin's little circumcisions, infection grew into a deformity so he's trying to kill himself, and his brother started having post puberty delusions of his father raping him as an infant, (PTSD flashbacks to his circumcision while his dad held him down so he could be cut) His therapist tried to convince him to press charges. There are a whole lot of long term side effects that are disassociated."

In my opinion I think this very well could be true... as I have talked to many circumcised guys.. Many who are still in their twenties, who say they get no pleasure from topping, and have no sensitivity in their dicks..

I know personally for me.. I don't have nearly the amount of sensation that I wish I had, and usually struggle to "get off" during sex, and have only had real orgasmic sex two or three times..

Sexual dysfunction can definitely lead to depression which can and does lead to suicide. Circumcision can and does have negative affects on sexual response. Severe cases include sexual dysfunction. So I say yes, circumcision could lead to suicide.

However, I think it is quite a jump to link mental illnesses like schizophrenia to circumcision. Schizophrenia does have genetic links and can remain dormant in a individual perhaps for his or her entire life. Extremely stressful situations or traumatic events can trigger it in individuals that have potential to develop through their genetic make up. I think it is unlikely that the trauma from infant circumcision would cause schizophrenia in a adult. Though, I guess it is possible that distress from unable to perform sexually could contribute to the onset of schizophrenia.

I would question the background of a therapist that would encourage a patient to charge his parents for having him circumcised as in infant. It is not likely that the memory described above would be true.

I hear you! I wish I had better sexual response as well - restoration is helping but I have a long way to go. I usually don't have to struggle to get off, but sadly I have also not had many truly orgasmic sexual experiences (meaning feeling the orgasmic response throughout my body).

I think that many guys really haven't experienced a full orgasmic response. Just look at the number of posts of guys trying learn how to increase the volume and distance of their ejaculate. Ejaculation feels good and I understand this desire but ejaculation pales in comparison and is very insignificant to a true body orgasm. They are very separate experiences that usually occur simultaneously. Ejaculation is not required for just penile orgasms or full body orgasms. (I know, since I wasn't even old enough to ejaculate when I had my first body orgasm).

If they really understood this perhaps they would be concentrating their efforts differently. I know that this is definitely a significant motivating factor for me in my bid restore my foreskin.

Nothing to do with tensing up or unable to move. Please describe the pleasure feeling in detail.

Also, please be aware the negative consequences of circumcision is not consistent. It may have been more unkind to others then it was to you. Not sure how old you are but many find that as they age the negative consequences worsen.

It may very well be true, i have nt had a neat circumcision , infact i've got a piercing on top and a skin tag which has absolutely mortified my throughout my childhood and school time, in fact one doctor has diagnosed it as a wart. I've done tones of research on HPV and also thought that it could be a wart, i've tried all the creams, garlic burning it away for months, cyroed it off and it came back from the dead, nothing worked, only last year i went to a doc and he said that it was a skin tag. oh the relef! now i've got to trust him to cut it out,

Yes, it was depressing, and yes, i have been diaognised with PTSD before too, and yes that circumcision, and the social anxiety that it caused did add much to that PTSD pie too.

However I have no idea as to if it had effected me (psychologically)at birth, and don't know how i would know this either. Besides for the PTSD (and yes this was serious), and the occational depression directly because of the circumcison and the social effects that it brought, i am pretty mentally healthy.

Not to mention losing more than your foreskin. Not to be alarmist, but I had a friend who lost a good portion of his deltoid and part of his bicep to a flesh eating staph infection he picked up in the hospital, while he was in for something completely unrelated. It became blood borne, and he was in a coma and nearly died. Seriously, do not mess around with this. Get yourself to a physician pronto, even if you have to go to emergency and go out of your insurance (presuming you have any). Your parts are too beautiful to lose. :wink:

Despite not having nerves cut, excess keritinization(sp?) of the glans over time from prolonged contact with bedding, clothes, etc. does make sensitivity drop off with age. May not be a problem now or EVER for that fact; but it is a *possibility* later on in life. Dealing with sensation and nervous system issues myself? I too have much road ahead of me to get a skin that does more than just sorta wrinkle up around the prepuce when totally relaxed. (been working on it for a month solid now) It used to be like trying to score an erection through a tourniquet!! I literally was not comfortable in my own skin from the circumcision scar.

However, the methods employed do tend to make an extended stay within the folds of your own skin possible. For fear of TEARING my own hide off, I wait for the medical grade tape I use to slough off, rather than peel it off. It can be two, three days at a stretch you end up inside of a false foreskin.

I am circumcised. Think u got it bad. I only cum maybe 3-4 times a year. Always took me a real long time and just kept getting longer and longer to cum till it does not happen very often. There is a name for it but forgot what my doctor called it. Had to get used to it over the years. The doctor says most of it due to being circumcised. The head got to much friction in my pants from boxers and I did alot of walking and running. Well thats life and we go on. Yeah, maybe controlled sensitivity is a plus, but you *could* change your mind later. Just be happy to know that should you make the decision on modding your body to regain much of that sensation back - like I did? That is is extremely possible and well within the grasp of anyone. I read a document somewhere, out there that stated that the true meaning behind circumcision was not so much as a signed, sworn oath of faith to a creator above, but rather; clandestine effort to purposely DULL the sensations a live, active and sensually snug fitting tool could endow one with. I am not bitter, but man - that's months more work I gotta put into my equipment maintenence routine now.
