The fact that some people don't masturbate surprising anyone is surprising to me. There are a lot of people who don't for various reasons. Religion, maybe it's not all that stimulating for them, maybe they are trying to not spend so much of their time masturbating in their bedroom when they want to be doing other things, maybe they've had a bad experience or two with it, maybe they were sexually abused and it reminds them of that. Maybe they are on medications and they have trouble orgasming. Maybe they just dont get the urge to do it. OMG, how many reasons is that? I know someone who fits every one of those descriptions, all different guys. And many more ladies who don't for whatever reasons. They are in the minority but they DO indeed exist.
We should respect that and not insult people who don't do it for whatever reasons. Maybe they go through their day just as happy as the guy who orgasmed 8 times and still doesn't get the idea off of his mind long enough to get something else done. Ever think someone else doesn't think the way you do?

I don't think anyone insulted anyone over not masturbating. There's just a lot of curiosity about why not.
So far all the people who have speculated about why a person wouldn't masturbate are all people who admit to masturbating. I am able to speculate also. That isn't the same as hearing it from the source. We really haven't heard from the non-masturbaters about why they don't do it.

DO you really expect to find a lot of non-masturbators on lpsg? I've not found any so far, but i've met a lot of them in the real world. Those are the people who's opinions matter about the non-masturbators. Instead people are using the thread to insult specific religions, some people are incredibly content with their religion (not many) but a few are and some people really don't have the urge to masturbate.
My dad was in a sexless marriage (He had sex 4 times in 13 years) didn't masturbate and eventually went impotent (temporarily) due to that whole "use it or lose it" possibility. It's odd, but he really thought he was doing the right thing. Now he tells people that no where in the Bible is masturbation mentioned as a sin. The whole story of Onan has to do with the lineage of Jesus and the bloodline that would be interrupted by the guy not having sex with his brothers wife and producing an heir from that family line. Instead he spilled his seed on the ground and didn't use it like "God" told him to and that the custom of the day said to do. Thats not the same. But if it feels good, many Christians say Don't Do it.

Wow! I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I mentioned the health aspect of masturbating earlier in this thread. It prevents prostate cancer, which can destroy one's ability to orgasm, if it doesn't kill you (ironic, isn't it?) In Australia they're recommending that men in their 20s masturbate 6 times per week to keep their prostates healthy.

I had a good friend while stationed in Florida that used to say "there are two types of guys, the ones that admit it and liars. I believe every guy has masturbated once in their life but some that don't do it all the time. I myself average once or twice a month at the most.

i just never really felt like masturbating. im 18 (not like 30 or something) and a late bloomer, so i never really bothered masturbating because i didnt think i even produced sperm (only start during puberty i thought).
the first time i realized i had sperm (since i dont jack off) was last summer when i had a wet dream now i have them like once a week, likely because i dont jack off.
if i get hard ill usually sit there wanking it dry (just my plain hand) but it doesnt do shit, and i have a really old big ass bottle of hand lotion in my bathroom but i cant see myself going in there once a day, getting a handful of lotion, and wanking it... dont even know how long it would take me

It works better if you do it in the shower. It's more convenient since you're already naked, no one will hear you or walk in on you, and it makes clean-up easy!

It's alright if you don't want to do it, and you don't have to, but there is evidence that your sexual function and prostate health would be better in the long run if you did it. Most people enjoy it! I know I do.
