Does gay porn cause bodydysmorphia to gay men?

I feel like bodydysmorphia is a rampant issue among gay men so do you think porn makes this worse or do you feel like it has a positive effect on your body image?

I would think porn can make it worse. I find being in the nudist scene far more benefical to my body image, where there's a range of body types, instead of everyone looking like a model. In fact, this is one reason the younger generation won't get naked in front of each other, since all they see is porn and 'perfect' bodies. Those of us who grew up with communal showers, or being naked with friends/family, etc., know that it's not like that in the real world.

Porn absolutely makes it worse. How many guys do you see in porn who could lose just a couple, three pounds? Whose waist size could be a size smaller? Who could use just a little more definition? None! And that's the problem. Us in the 'not bad, but not perfect' category can easily fall into thinking we're unworthy. But MOST people are in that category. Porn is for fantasy, don't forget that! Or watch more amateur porn. Those guys do tend to be like most of us, regular people.
