I think it slowly changes your mind about what is "common" and "normal" when it comes to sex. (I'm gay) Until I began watching porn on a frequent basis thought rimming was something totally repulsive and something I would never do or have done to me. However, not long ago I tried it and my opinions/practices have totally changed as a result. It also leaves the impression that a man can easily stretch enough so that gigantic dicks can not only be accommodated but enjoyed!
Along those lines, I think the personal sites leave one to think that most guys are fairly muscular, hairy and handsome. Perhaps those who aren't don't participate in internet match-ups. Or, if they do, perhaps they only do so on sites that don't require pictures.

Interestingly enough NJ I know girls who are the opposite and refuse anyone who isn't "up to par" with The Fairy Prince from Neverneverland. :/
That's stupid, it's fiction!  Tell those ninnies it's a made up story and to start making themselves happy with what is available to them in reality.:biggrin1:

I am wondering if this a common thing for men watching any porn or if it's only men who watch porn a lot. Have you noticed if watching porn alters your perceptions of the real women and real sex you're having?
I would like to think it's only men who watch porn a lot, that end up feeling/behaving this way. It becomes their reality.:frown1::mad:

I used to watch alot of porn when I was in my early 20's. I saw so many hot female bodies that I started to use them as a gold standard. The average girl became less attractive to me, and most girls that I met at bars couldn't compete with the girls I saw in these videos. As a result I didn't get laid much.
Sadly, your thinking has become the norm. I say sadly because you may have noticed that the men in hetero porn are far less than model quality. This leads men who are barely attractive to believe they have the ability or right to date and have sex with model quality women.

I am not model quality. Which is one reason dating has been particularly hard for me lately.

Some people would say that sex with the same person over and over desensitizes them. Maybe some people just get bored with sex over time. Bored with sex? I'm sorry this does not compute, please explain.
I mean it takes more to get someone excited as they get older and experience more. Maybe not for everyone. The physical aspect doesn't turn them on, like seeing your partner undress, as it did when you first met. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just thinking of all the couples that say their sex lives have slowly died over the years.

When I was younger, just seeing a picture of naked women would instantly give me an erection. After seeing more porn with the advent of the Internet, I am a little desensitized to it, and that's a good thing. I don't get as much anxiety just talking to women. I'm not sure if this is just a normal decline in my sex drive as I get older or desensitization from experiencing more.

Porn is so weird. Honestly the women are so unrealistic in so many ways. From the fake orgasms, bad bleach jobs with too much hairspray, drag queen makeup, implants you can read the serial numbers on through their thin skin, silly pubic hair patterns, fucked out strung out beyond belief.

They all have this deer in the headlights stupid look about them. But i suppose some men would find that incredibly attractive....even if she is faking it- all the way from her looks to her sounds.
I'm sure I'm not speaking for everyone, but if I come to the conclusion or am informed that a woman has had breast implants strictly to make themselves bigger, it is an absolutely huge turnoff. Also, when I watch porn, I mute it, because I can't stand the fake moaning. I can't stay hard hearing that bullshit. Lastly, Brunettes >> Blondes.

when I was about 14-16 I was actually like the size of porn stars so I never though I was small or big.... just like anyone else.

I used to be really shallow and pretty much addicted to porn. The girlfriends I had were quite attractive but all of them except maybe one I dated primarily because of their looks.
Then I met this one girl who changed everything. She had large breasts, small love handles and a little bit of "baby fat" on her belly, large hips and thighs and a big butt. The sex with her was incredible and I still love women with her body type. Now a days I actually find these women on television and in hollywood very unattractive and I find myself .
I find myself saying "Ohh she would be so sexy with a little meat on her." It's almost like a surreal joke that they have no idea they are living in any more in hollywood. They look totally fake and it grosses me out now. All plastic, starved, powdered and cooked to look healthy.
For instance, I LOVED Anna Nicole when she started putting on some weight.

Interesting thread, SB. And thanks, too, for your link, Rubi.

I believe that this is a phase that people/civilization will go through. In all revolutions, there eventually comes to be a new synthesis. It happened with the sexual revolution, and it will happen again with the image porn revolution.

Also, it's not THAT hard to "reprogram" your mind. I've rewired my brain sexually a couple of times. So I believe that ayone desensitized by porn can fix it eventually.

And really, I'd much rather have this than Taliban "morals", no?

I think even more worrying then we are supposed to look like porn starts is the fact we are supposed to act like porn starts. Ive only been with one virgin and what he expected his first time was so far fro the real thing that i was worried he would be disappointed... fortunately he want

I hate and blame main stream porn for their portrayal of what sex should be, which is why i love sites like xtube and their amateur porn. I would rather see a chubby house wife and a flabby husband then a perfect ken & Barbie couple oiled up ad faking every movement they make.

I really should change my screenname to ChubbyHousewife, thats kinda cute! Long Live Xtube!

Id say Yeah, go for it if there was actually anything chubby about you.
But really, the invention of xtube is a great thing. Think of how many young guys (and girls) sneak into that armature section and are getting to see what sex is really like. Learning not everything is choreographed and sometimes there are fumbles, slip ups and that naked not every woman looks like Miss Universe

If women in porn looked more like they were enjoying themselves it would be more of a turn-on. As for unrealistic expectations my main fantasy is to have sex with a woman who is really enjoying herself. As for looks not all the women in porn are beautiful, in fact I doubt that 1/4 of them would meet my ideal fantasy. And as far as what I find desirable in a woman: my wife has been overweight, she is short and she is 59, maybe not ideal but love has a way to cure any perception. I find, and I think that many other men are the same, that just being around a woman heightens my perception of their sexuality and physical qualities even if they are not "ideal" women are sexual beings and if they are happy and smiling, all women are desirable.

So only one guy admits it affected his perceptions and only in the past. Or is it just the case that men don't admit it where women are around? HMM. It's interesting seeing the difference from one to the next. The other site has almost zero women. I can think of only 2. I wonder if that has something to do with the difference in the responses.

It hasn't changed my expectations about women. I don't expect individual women to look or act like the women in porn (especially professional porn), nor do I expect women to have any interest or even curiosity about the majority of acts that women engage in in porn.

It has given me some regrets though. The third woman I slept with is the one I married, and while I wouldn't change that for the world, I find I regret sometimes that I didn't date more actively beforehand.

Not because I would've wanted to end up with someone different, but rather because seeing sooooo many intimate scenes like that wakes you up to how much variety there is in people's appearance and personalities. I sometimes feel like I missed out on not getting to experience a bit more.

But it's a fairly minor regret. I honestly spend a hell of a lot more time wishing my wife and I were having more sex than I do wishing I'd had sex with someone else :p

That's just me though. I've honestly met a shit ton of guys online who watch so much professional stuff that you can put a beautiful but real woman in front of them and they can't find her sexy, and I absolutely do blame porn for that (well, a combination of porn and their own idiocy).

Is it the responsibility of women to try to compete with porn women and porn acts? I see so many threads about how many men are boring lovers. Perhaps they find the women they date equally boring in the sack? Especially after watching so much porn?

I guess so. But then again I suspect a lot of women are as I was in the past. Accepting of very mediocre sex. They think it's all they can get. I know that's how I was.

And really, I'd much rather have this than Taliban "morals", no?

It helps when a man gets to look at a real female partner with a body like yours. You ARE the image of those smoking hot porn women. I don't think the guys in that thread I was talking about would have a difficult time getting hard with you. Me on the other hand...

No. I've never had an expectation that my wife should want to do something I've seen in porn (now, I absolutely wouldn't complain if she did, but I don't have that expectation and it doesn't cause me any lost sleep).

Perhaps they find the women they date equally boring in the sack? Especially after watching so much porn?

I have this, but it's not because of porn. When my wife and I started dating, she'd just divorced her psychotic ex-husband and left a sexless marriage. I was lucky enough to be the rebound of that, and got to be on the receiving end of several years worth of pent up sexual frustration.

But now we're married, with children, and to say that our current sex life pales in comparison to the sex life we had when we were dating is the understatement of the year. There was a lot of stuff that she used to enthusiastically initiate that's completley off the table now.

But that's nothing to do with porn.

It hasn't skewed my perception. I think pornstars are a bit like cartoons and not representative of the whole of the female population. Oftentimes they aren't even attractive. Which is why I watch amateur/homemade porn.

Occasionally I'll see a hot girl eg:

http://nullworld.biz/uploads/posts/1176690721_07_04_15_b1c08647b19e.jpg

And watch one or two of her movies. I generally find however that even the hottest pornstars and the 'average' pornstars aren't as noisy/into it/horny as I would like.

Still I know women like that are very rare and I wouldn't want to limit my options by excluding a large percentage of the female population. I also like curvy girls whom you don't really see in porn eg:

YouPorn.com Lite (BETA) - Porn

Any guy who has his opinions on women made for him by the porn industry deserves no woman. Unless he's some kind of super stud (which I don't think most wankers are), he can't get a 'supermodel' girlfriend

I remember buying my first porno magazine from my friend at school, I was 14. I took it home and had an erection from the anticipation before I even saw it. I then spent a day masturbating over each page so as to really enjoy all the models. Ah, those were the days ;)
So no doubt I'm desensitised. And older too!

Porn has also introduced me to some new sexual pleasures, such as mild bondage. On the other hand I still can't understand why they always insist on shagging the woman up the arse!

You might as well ask 'does watching too many soap operas skew your perception of everyday life?'

Ah...but the men in the confession thread DID have Girlfriends/wives. It's just that they found her body..well...kind of icky and unerotic compared to porn women. And they just didn't get into the sex all that much either. They couldn't get past the fact their GFs weren't porn model hot. And it had a real effect of contributing to ED and lowering their desire for sex with their real partner. It wasn't helped by the fact their GFs often didn't behave like porn women either.

Which is why I ask...should women be more concerned? Has porn raised the bar in what men consider hot sex? Maybe we've been sitting back thinking it's men who should do all the work? Is the easy access to porn going to start altering men's expectations in bed and find women wanting?

Do you see where I'm going with this?

The guys on that site...heck..even on this one often talk about 'pussy power' and how they resent women holding so much power over them. Is porn leading to a new era when women will no longer be able to take for granted we have that 'pussy power' to wield over men?

If men raise the bar and start letting it be known their GF/wife is just subpar vis-a-vis porn women (honey, you know..you really suck in the sack) will this be the new way people relate HotMilf was saying the porn revolution will bring about?
