some ethnicities have a lot of body hair.
some have none.
i'm into a bit of fur, but turned off by a full carpet.
etc. etc. etc.

it's not the race but the trait i'm going for or rejecting.

Nope, as I've gotten older I've learned that there are good and bad in all, and I try my best to treat people as I find them. None of my prior girlfriends were picked for their skin color, nor do I really even notice or think about their skin colors. It is what it is for me. I'm part black, native Indian, and Portuguese, currently I'm dating a Portuguese girl, before her was a white woman, before that was a black woman, and they all have/had their good and bad qualities. And I choose them all for reasons that had nothing to do with skin color.

Race doesn't factor at all for me. I like a guy because he's nice, honest, witty and intelligent... if he's black, white, Asian etc... doesn't matter

Well, I have a question.

With the way media (at least in the US) is, Middle Eastern or Muslim guys. what do you ladies think? do you assume they are like the monsters overseas? I look like I come straight out of Ireland, I have freckles, light brown hair, pale skinned, I have no accent and was born and raised in the US. My parents are from Lebanon, and I'm Muslim.

But whenever I meet a girl and say my name (which is as arabic as names can be) I sometimes see hesitation. I try to think they are just surprised by my name, and want to comment on it, but don't want to seem stupid or something, but sometimes i think "...racist!"

I do take pride in the fact, though, that I tend to shatter stereotypes of people I meet.

I personally love Muslim men, but I was engaged to a Djiboutian and Yemeni man who is an MD in the states, and he has related that quite frequently his dating relationships end due to discrimination against Muslims. Which is double whammy for him, because he is also dark and fits the FWA look many fear.

My guess would have to be black men :frown1:

any kind of darker skin tone i find myself less attracted to. sometimes even white men who are tanned i find unattractive.

i find myself specifically attracted to white and oriental men.

like i said, though, i have found men of all races in my life that i've had physical attraction to at one point or another.

what's funny is that the only men i've ever had sex with were both hispanic.

No. I have seen very attractive men in all races. A man's physical size, character, and even his smell and voice really get me going. For example, I find Gary Dourdan, Mike Rowe, Sean Connery, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005023/Djimon Hounsou and Yun-Fat Chow very attractive.

I don't have any explicit preferences (or non-preferences) but I've never asked out a black woman. (I'm white.) It isn't that I've never known or met an attractive one, it's just that the circumstances were never quite convergent and I haven't sought to change them since there would probably be family problems anyway. I guess I do kinda sorta prefer a "mix" of types -- dark skin with some Caucasian signifiers (paging: Halle Berry) -- but, then, Beyonce is a hell of a sista and I used to think Phyllis Hyman was really really sexy (but she had depression issues -- RIP). So there aren't hard&fast dealbreakers on race for me.

However... I have had several black women pursue me and ask me out, and I have gone on dates with them. I'm a good listener with a quirky sense of humor, which I think are "universals", but beyond those I certainly don't have any cultural commonalities. (As the Weird Al song goes, white & nerdy.) But some black women have found me, I don't know, adorable? That's the impression I get. Like the cutest little puppy. I don't know if there's any kind of cultural/racial thing going on or not, or just the way the odds shook out. But women of other races who've been attracted to me have usually treated me in a slightly different way. Shrug.

I like the human race. Having been married a while only makes me wonder.
I prefered a certain characteristic, spunk and intellect. But Big hooters was a good choice.
LOL You are a card!

I am aware of some men who are black, but date only white males. They're called "snow queens."
hahaha

I perfer to date folks who are not crazy and drama free. I don't care about the race factor, it's the mental factor I stress most on.
Me too!

I expect going to the races might be a nice date
I would think so too.
