the ads for it say
-increased sex life(libido)
-more strength
-better moods
-better sleep
-all around better everything!

first of all, considering we all have testosterone how much of a difference would taking T impact all of these areas?

Also im in my late 20s and have always been on the low side of average. But every endocrinologist and urologist ive been to tell me "yes you are low, but no, i wont give you it". What do you think of my situation? I see 50+ year olds at the gym walking around like Arnold all buff and confrontational with other gym goers, clearly taking shit. Meanwhile Im in my 20s and cant get a little hit of T, what gives?

Don't be tempted. You may be low in T but once your body becomes used to supplementary testosterone it will lose the ability to make T. I'm sure your endocrinologist told you that. Plus, I expect you were told about other risks. You are young, and I don't think you'll enjoy a life of dependency.

How about trying to accept that you are not one of those super-macho musclemen? You do realise that not many women want that kind of guy, don't you?

Well, I guess if you're within normal range then giving you T might make you too high, i.e. you'ld be above the normal range which has negative effects.

But the guys you see in the gym are below the normal range so T supplements just puts them at the high end of normal, so they're better off.

It sounds sucky, but your T is probably too high for supplements but too low for optimal health.

Try seeing more doctors and ask for your actual results with some more data so you can see how it measure sup for your age and your optimal levels.

yea except the guys at the gym are clearly abusing it. Purposely finding young guys to bench next to and making pissed faces at me to show off, "oh yea? im twice your age and taking T muaaar look at me". douchebags.

And, the guys in the gym, my guess is they're are on steroids. Not just a testosterone supplement prescribed by their doc. If they're being confrontational (think: gym douche, as my friends and I call them), why would you ever want to be "that guy" anyway.

i would never want to be that guy. But i do want an aid in libido and depression

You could take maca, I've taken it in the past and have been taking it currently and I've noticed an increase in energy and libido.
Plus working out can help decrease your depression and boost your t.

Trust me be very careful with testosterone supplements. Even over the counter pro hormones can have horrid effects. I took an over the counter pro hormone to get a little more muscle size (BTW they don't work like that no matter what the GNC or supplement guys tell you) and my sex drive depleted and my hair started falling out. Of course it's all returning back to normal but I wasn't on it for very long. Working out daily and maintaining a good diet is a first step in regulating hormones. Testosterone spikes during exercise and regular exercise can have positive long term effects on hormones. I also think macca might be a cool thing to try out because it can have a hormone regulatory effect. Do you have a pretty substantial sex drive? Do you have energy throughout the day. Make sure you're also getting enough sleep because sleep also regulates your hormones.

Im currently taking a natural testosterone booster. So it's not straight up testosterone but contains vitamins and minerals to naturally regulate your own testosterone level. It won't over boost your levels .. only brings it up to where it should be. I've noticed all the same benefits .. I sleep better and am well rested in the mornings .. my recovery time after the gym (such as soreness and fatigue) the following day(s) have been greatly reduced .. although I didn't suffer from depression I've noticed a major difference in my mood, for the better, on a daily basis .. my libido is also increasing as I'm now horny most of the day (pro or con? .. a pro in my books) .. and along 2ith an adjusted workout regimen I've noticed a tighter and leaner muscle gain than before.

I get my test-booster from GNC .. some people say they're bullshit and worthless .. but I'm definatly seeing results and can honestly say I noticed them shortly after starting.

Working out is a natural testosterone booster. Don't forget, there is a reason our body balances testosterone.
Before taking any prescription drug consider the following (at least in the U.S.):
Most marketed drugs have one goal- profit.
Most marketable drugs cause more health problems than they cure (more marketing)
Most drug companies could give two shits about health (more marketing)

Just listen to the possible side effects for simple things, like heartburn....

yes it is life changing and will effect you positivly in all those areas. as soon as you hit 30 go back and i guarantee those docs will change their mind. they go by whats on paper over all else and they wont usually budge from it and most literature says no one under 30 needs it. most people here who have responded are commenting on things they havent done and know little about, and a couple making stereotype comments that are expected from insecure types that want to demonize things they are afraid to try. if you have any more questions pm me

Andro gel is messy and transdermal is a terrible way to administer a drug. Another example of docs pushing certain drugs for the kick backs. Injectable test is much more efficient

my doctor gave me andro-gel ...he took a blood test and said I need to have this
I just hope it don't hurt me months after I'm on it
is anyone else on Andro-gel?
thats interesting that he said you need it. A doctor of all people should know that no one needs to take hormones, it should be more of a desire on your own part.

It's not all around better everyting!

If your T-levels are not abnormal low (less than 250ng/dL) and you are younger than 50; no MD (in Belgium) would prescript you a T-supplement.
Why?
A lot of serious side effects can and will occur if you increase your T-levels above a certain range.
And every person reacts differently ( with a sudden peak in T-level, many side effects occur) and you can't by yourself measure your T-levels.
A physician should and must monitor your testosterone use regurlarly.

Signs of an artificial increased "High"( T-levels +1250ng/dL) :
- testicular atrophy
- prostate enlargement
- hair loss
- acne
- blood clots
- liver damage, liver toxicity
- sleep apnea
- gynecomastia (breast enlargement, breast pain)
- depersonalization
- diarrhea
- headache
- mental depression
- paranoia
- quick to react or overreact emotionally
- irritability
- rapidly changing moods

If your MD says, you don't need them, well?

I'm 27. I took Testosterone when I was 24/25 because my T levels were in the mid 200's.

The ONLY positive I noticed was an increase in muscle mass.

I went off it after a couple months.

Is your diet in check? Are you lifting heavy weights? Are you sleeping properly? In other words are you giving your body reason to make testosterone? If not, that's the problem... And the solution is to start doing things that will make your body need testosterone.

If you take test shots, your balls are gonna shrink, they aren't gonna make their own hormones and you'll be dependent on the test shots for the rest of your life. You have low test cause you haven't done anything to need high test, simple as that.
