Do you like dogs or cats better as pets. Why?
I like dogs better. Now, I'm by no means a pet lover, but if I ever had a pet it would definitely not be a cat. Cats are cute when they are kittens, but I think they are rather strange-looking when they are grown. I'm also sort of creeped out by them. I remember thinking my cousins' cat was posessed by the devil, when I was little, because of the way it growled and made a strange pulsating/ticking noise when it was at rest and breathing. I know it's irrational, but I guess I still think of cats as embodying evil or being creepy pets. Anyway, dogs are the only pets we had when I was growing up, so they are the only ones I'm comfortable with. They are cute as puppies and they are friendly as grown-up dogs. As I said though, I'm not a pet lover and I don't ever plan on having a dog, much less a cat, as a pet for myself.
I'm defintely a cat person, don't get me wrong, I like dogs, but I respect cats. They're intelligent and agile - plus you have work for their affection. People always say that cats are selfish creatures... but in my experience, once a cat has a bond with you, it's never broken. I was away for a year - and when I came back, my cat wouldn't leave me for a second.
I don't know how people can say cats are more intelligent than dogs, when my cat's lying on the floor (it's black and barely visible) it will happily lie there while I accidentally stand on it, a dog has the sense to get out of the way. It is often stated that you can't train cats because they're too intelligent, so how come the ultimate cat, the tiger, was so often seen in the past jumping through flaming loops ?
A pet is supposed to love you and suck up to you, make you feel you're the centre of it's universe, cats have the idea they're the centre of the universe.
As a child, I hated cats and loved dogs. Somehow, along the way things were reversed. I can tolerate dogs...they are just sooooo needy. I love the attitude and personalities of cats...that almost "bow before me you wanker" attitude.
What do you think?
One of my twins from the Middle East.
I like cats because they are easier to potty train and they don't eat their own puke
If you cat people ever met my dog, you would eat your words. Dogs are the most selfless, loving animals in the world. I have yet to take a cat on a hike, be protected by a cat, have a cat be so happy that I am home, play fetch or wrestle with a cat....
Truth be told. We all LOVE our CATS and our DOGS.
My Mouse with fetch non stop.
My Mouse will lay on me, follow me and kiss me whenever I get back down to Mo.
He will GROWL and protect me also.
He is a CAT.
Some dogs will NOT wag it's tail when you get home. Some dogs hate LONG walks.
We all have our reasons for loving our fur babys. They ALL make our lives much better!!!
DOGS!! and if you have a dog and LUV them too , PM me Ill tell you why...
It depends on the BREED of the animal. Like my twins. They are PURE BREED. Not muts. Not kicking the muts in the BALLS. But, pure breeds are more valued. My fur babys are so smart and so EVERYTHING:tongue: .
Though I do want a cute little Taco bell dog.:biggrin1:
I'd rather other people have cats than dogs, because their damn cats won't bark all day.
I like both but for different reasons. Cats amuse me with their "you're lucky I let you live here with me" attitude and i've had a couple in the past, but I only have a dog now. She's small, smart, entertaining, not an incessant barker (will alert me if someone's at the door), sounds larger than her actual size when barking, affectionate, spunky, has a sixth sense about my moods, a boon traveling companion...she's simply wonderful.
In order to spend much time with either, I need to have more drugs in my system than Shannon Hoon in 1995. But I like dogs.
both, with seven dogs and 6 cats,i gotta be an animal lover.
Too difficult of a decision for me, had both, loved both, for different reasons.
If I had to choose one or the other for the rest of my life... I guess it would be a dog, purely because it's part of the 'suburban dream'.
I have 4 cats.....the ONLY pussies I've ever slept with!
