Someone on this board who hasn't posted for a while said that he and his partner were looking forward to a retirement home that was in a warm location and private enough that they would only need clothes when they had errands to do in town. For further laundry reduction, they were looking into getting a full body blow dryer for the bathroom. How does that life style sound to you?
That sounds like heaven. Some place warm, sunny with access to the ocean. There is a ton of property for sale in St. Thomas USVI, now most of the lots are dirt cheap since the massive hurricane there 2 years ago. We vacation on St. Thomas often and have discussed buying a lot down there and making it totally gated and enclosed. I just shutter at the thought of building another home, especially one so far away. One of us would need to be there on a regular basis to ensure the work was what we wanted and paid for. We built our current home in 2001 and I was constantly having to put the general contractor back on task. I can't imagine how it would be somewhere so far away.
Today is a sad day, I am volunteering at our local food bank, so that means having to slip into some shorts, shirt and shoes. The rest of the week is all mine though so I'll survive.

Do you sometimes go several days without putting any clothes on?
Before you retired, did you spend most of your at home time naked?

Oh absolutely. I been totally naked since Friday. Today I have to put on clothes since I'm volunteering shortly (2:30 to 4:30). I sent a text to one of the subs seeing if she could cover for me, hoping to hear back. I don't want to get dressed. That would mean going upstairs, putting on shorts, a shirt, socks and shoes.....that to me sounds exhausting. Then having to take it all off, I'll need a nap after that
Regarding being naked before retiring. When I would leave work and get back to the hotel room, I took everything off and was nude until the morning. I would often order up room service and just wrap a bath towel to let them in. I have never worn underwear so it was a towel or slip my slacks back on. No one seemed to mind the towel, I'm sure they have seen that and much worse. When I would get home on Thursday evening, I would remove my clothes and depending on what time of year it was, I would fix a drink and sit naked on the deck or Florida room and my husband and I would catch up on events of the week. He would always be in his underwear. I never worked on Fridays but since that was my only day of the week at home I would grocery shop, pick up dry cleaning, banking, etc. Then upon returning home I would strip down and stay naked all weekend. When I first started this my husband kept asking 'why I liked being naked so much", not that he minded at all, he said he thought it was sexy. I just responded that I felt so good and I really liked it. I turned it on him and asked why he came down naked on the weekends and sat outside drinking his coffee. He responded 'I guess because it feels good.'

What is your record for days continuously nude?
Do you do most of the errands since you are retired and have more time?
Or does you husband do them on the way home since he is already dressed?
Thinking back, about how many suits, shirts and ties did you have when you were working?
Now that you are retired I would think one suit, 3 or 4 shirts and about a half dozen ties would suffice for the rare occasions they are needed. Other than the quality of the clothes, any reason you are keeping more?

Record number of days without needing to slip into some clothes. Probably 7. When I first retired I spent a week at home never leaving the house once. Then what I found was the more I stayed at home the more I didn't want to leave. I was becoming a true hermit. The first month I layed on the couch every day and binged watched the first 4 seasons of Game of Thrones. Then one day my husband came home and said, 'baby you got to get off that couch." So I started to do volunteer work, which was a blessing because it got me out and speaking to people again. Now I volunteer about 6 times a month.
So I think 7 days is the record and to be honest I don't like being home that many days in a row. Now that I've retired I have written and published 2 novels and working on a third so that keeps me busy. Although so far this weeks its 4 days so far. Tomorrow I need to go out to the market to get some groceries, then to the butcher shop and the wine store. One of the paralegals working in my husbands law office has a birthday on Wed and my husband is hosting the party here at the house. So tomorrow and Wednesday will be pretty much a clothing day.
My husband doesn't like to do shopping but he will run the errands on the way back from work.
I had a shit load of suits, sport coats and slacks. So far I have donated 34 pair or dress slacks, 8 suits and 9 sport coats. I have 2 suits, and 3 sport coats and maybe 4 pair of dress slacks left. Still have my favorite ties as all 6 of them were hand painted nut I gave my husband his choice of the ties and he did take quite a few and I got rid of about 30 of them. Still have about a dozen or so dress shirts still in the original packaging (I gave away all of the others ..aprox 40 of them). My husband took many of the clothes to his office for the male staff to take. The rest went to Good Will and Catholic Charities.
I think I'm keeping the remainder of the business clothes just for the times we go out, weddings, parties, things like that. I'll dress up Wednesday for the party.
