I have been searching for a while now regarding this. most foreskin restoration sites concerns restoration for those who are fully circumcised. for some reason i didn't get a full circumcision. I got a dorsal slit (no foreskin was cut off, it was left to form a pouch below the head of my penis). which is a common practice from where i was circumcised. I have also asked a few surgeons if it's possible and all of them recommended a full circumcision instead. But I don't want a full circumcision, i wan't to reverse my dorsal slit and make my foreskin intact again. Has anyone here know about/tried/know someone who tried to have their dorsal slit reversed? I really need some help. I'm starting to think that foreskin restoration may not be possible for me at all.:frown1:

dorsal slit restoration is a simple procedure, i don't see why your doctor wouldn't have referred you to a surgeon to see for pre-screen and assessment. i guess since the dorsal operation isn't all that common, restoration might not be the first corrective option doctors think of. but the info it out there, i'll search out a few articles you can print out and take to the doctors appointments.

the foreskin is incised on the borders of the old dorsal slit, open edges are brought together and the wound is closed with heaps of tiny lil sutures. aftercare should be the same as most surgery - keep the dressing on as instructed, keep the area clean. there are a few extra rules for peen surgery - no wanking for a bit. trying to keep erections under control.

long term follow up would be a a couple weeks of steroid topical with manual foreskin stretching to prevent any scar contracture or adhesion to the glans.

talk to a urologist in your area, and go for a second options until you feel comfortable.

if you google Posthisplasty and restoration you'll get more info.

There is no telling what your "restored" foreskin would look like however. The excess skin on the ventral side will have shrunk some over the years.

Theoretically, it should be possible, as long as the skin (when on shaft) is wide enough to accomodate the reconfiguration. The now horizontal scar needs to be made vertical, and that means that the doc has to be able to join the 2 edges and suture them. If the skin is no loonger wide enough to allow that to be done, it would be very hard to accomplish.

Although I'm not familiar with how a dorsal slit repair is done i think one possible senario that would result in a restored foreskin would be a loose circumcision and then restoration. I'm not sure if this is what you were saying that you didn't want to do or just didn't want to be circumcised. If that was the case than I apologize for the useless comment.

The ~20,000 specialised nerve-endings are concentrated in a ridged band running round the opening. The dorsal slit leaves them (though it may mess with their connecting nerves. Even a loose circumcision would remove them.

Dorsal slit repair should be possible, though it would be microsurgery. - especially stitching the inside to the inside and the outside to the outside, and not connecting them, so that the original rolling action could be restored. It should be possible, but it would not be cheap, nor covered by insurance.

I was considering that at first, but i'm worried of losing the sensitivity on what's left of my original foreskin.
