Sounds like a closeted conservative boy couldn't help but expressing his love to his significant other lol.
I've asked some of my straight mates and they find his statement weird
Drop the bro at the beginning and the brotha at the end and it might as well have been.

They haven't followed each other on Instagram yet and it's weird, like you are exactly hangingout with the new friend circle while you don't want to mislabeled as queer
Has he ever said why he’s even in LA now in the first place? Just to hang out with “influencers”? Seems like he’s been there for weeks now lol

Can anyone in the states explain to me, is this just some weird Florida podunk thing? like loving each other in Christian republican way? who would say this to a male friend than your close relatives..... Drew is cute but him and his buddies are odd

As a gay guy in the states, I would only say this to someone I wanted to fuck. And every single one of my straight guys friends would agree

It's different for the GenZ's, even the conservative ones--they have grown up in an America where LGBT people are present in all aspects of their lives. Even Mitt Romeny just voted to codify same-sex marriage in the Senate.

I also think the mental health community has pushed to remove stigmas of boys and men expressing emotion and forming close bonds with their same-sex peers. The 'Me Too Movement' I think pushed the idea of toxic masculinity to the forefront speeding the process of this too.
