Thumper_10x7_CA: In the gay community there is always talk about guys getting "tina dick." In other words, using the drug "tina" or "T" inhibits the man's ability to get an erection.
Now I have a friend who has been known to smoke T during sex (or PnP for the layman) and it actually makes his erection harder and more prolonged. My question is, what exactly does smoking T do to the body? He only smokes it and never injects it, snorts it or does it as a "booty bump." Does that make a difference?

If you are totally confused about the terminology here's the dictionary for you -

"booty bump" - mixing the crystal, in powder form, with saline and inserting it in the ass
"PnP" - Party and Play, to do drugs during sex
injecting is the classic needle directly into the vein
snorting it is inhaling it in powder form up your nose
smoking it is to inhale the smoke of it by heating it in a glass pipe
"T," "tina," "crystal" are all terms for crystal meth (I think it's crystal meth at least) or crack cocaine (again I think, if I'm wrong I'm sorry)

I take 14 prescription meds a day. 9 of them are known to cause erectile problems. Viagra is out of the question because of health problems and the meds I take for those problems. Some of the meds I take cause a decrease in Testosterone. My doctor checked my T level and it was low. I have been on replacement therapy for just over 5 months now. Everything is back to normal and functioning properly. My T levels are staying in the normal range and so far there have been no negative side effects.

I take an ace inhibitor, a beta blocker, blood thinners, four a day for heart/ blood pressure, one for diabetes, 2 a day for cholesterol, two for arthritis and two for back pain. As well as an anti-depressant. I get a injection of T once a month to balance things out.

Warning, warning!  Danger, Will Robinson!  We hear all the time about how such and such a drug is so harmless that it should be legalized and we tend to shake our heads amusedly at the mellowness of the typical stoner.  Their attitude is usually one of "what's the harm?"

My younger son is an example of that.  He's been through some intense counseling over the last year and a half that is the followup to rehab in our hospital's psych ward.  It started with the occasional toke of weed when he was 14.  By the time he was 18 (and had repeated 8th grade twice before dropping out of school) he was working menial jobs (washing cars, flipping burgers) just to pay for his next high.  Alcohol, weed and then the frequent 'recreational' drug, like X or coke or meth became his main diet.  The boy was burning from both ends.  

Then 4 years ago he mainlined his first heroin.  He cannot remember much that happened in his life after that.  

The aforementioned rehab was the final result for a life wasted and empty.  And he was lucky.  His best friend, who was also on that euphoric slide to hell, is doing 12 years in a federal prison for dealing.

Nobody will convince me that weed is okay and that it cannot lead to heavier drugs.  As far as I'm concerned, it isn't 'cute' (*giggle* look at that guy - he's wasted), it isn't liberating, and it certainly isn't harmless.

Forgive me for getting heavy here.  I've just gone through an intense resurrection of my younger son's life and I'm damned glad to have him around.  Clean and sober.

spork: The reason pot is a "gateway drug" is because of prohibition. Let me explain:

The antidrug propaganda in schools and on the television now basically says "You smoke pot, you'll immediately die or do something so dumb you wish you had." Well, this obviously is not true. So when kids do try it, and nothing bad happens, they conclude that everything else they've been told about the dangers of illegal drugs is also bull$&!%.

Unfortunately, for drugs like crystal or heroin, some of the propaganda is true.

Kids aren't stupid. If we want education to be effective, we have to stop lying to them. Marijuana makes you dumb and giggly, and smoking it a lot makes you unmotivated and possibly infertile, but it doesn't make you a danger to yourself or others, unlike (for instance) alcohol.

Abstinence-based "sex education" has been around long enough to make a similar point: it causes pregnancy rates to go UP.

We need reality-based education about both drugs and sex.
