So I've been going out to clubs fair bit lately with some friends, and what I've really come to notice is how friendly drunk guys seem to be. By friendly I mean they always want to chat with total strangers about pretty much anything, especially in the bathroom. I've had so many odd conversations I've lost count; everything from the weather, the proper way to do steroids and, of course, about having to take a piss.

This takes me to the other side of friendly. When a certain level of drunkenness comes along, all of the "urinal rules" go out the window. The clubs I've been going to (which are not gay clubs) have long-ish rows of urinals, placed close together with no dividers. The majority of guys make absolutely no effort to hide their cock, and many are obviously looking at others. A few times I've heard guys comment on each others. (On a side note, from what I've seen, uncut is the norm. One guy was even fascinated with his buddy's cut cock.)

Have others noticed this?

Don't like bars. Don't like hanging out with folks who are soon going to be driving drunk. No sirree Bob. I'll keep my drinking activities at home thanks. Someone wants to come join me is welcome, we can get drunk together. You can sleep it off on the couch.

Drink affects people in different ways of course, not all of them are friendly. I've known one or two who become argumentative and nasty.

Alcohol causes a relaxation of inhibitions, and regardless how little or how much a guy has had, one thing I'm certain of is that - we're social animals and curious about the world and each other. This doesn't necessarily mean that all guys who show an interest in other men are gay.

"In vino veritas" as the saying goes. (In wine is truth.)

You could easily be hit by a drunk driver at any time of day, regardless of whether or not you frequent bars, and regardless of how many folks may or may not be driving drunk (as you assume).

But, to the OP- I've noticed the same, and I do the same as you describe!

To the OP,
I've noticed it too. I'm in the closet and have only frequented straight clubs/bars with a bunch of straight guy friends. And I don't THINK I send out a gay vibe but lately I've been hit on by many STRAIGHT seeming guys. Just this last Friday, I actually had a jocky looking straight guy come up to me, hold on to me, and try to grind on me. I pushed him away obviously but looking back on it now, I shouldn't have lol

Well as others have said we relax. Talking about our "boy parts" sober... Nope, never. After a few pints that's another story... I personally love the relaxed normal chat and subsequent bonding after a few beers. The fact we can be lads and talk about whatever we want.

It's a shame that it takes chemical intoxication to give some guys permission to be open and friendly, isn't it? I've definitely noticed the same phenomenon, OP - at bars and clubs of all types.

Why on earth would anyone ever want to hide their cock??

You can find the exact same openness and friendliness in perfectly sober people of all sorts by hanging out somewhere where everyone is nude. Shedding one's clothes produces the same lack of inhibition as alcohol, but without any of the same health and safety issues.

I hate that stupid urinal rule and break it all the time. Why the fuck should we keep to ourselves while holding our best friend? Staring at the wall in front of you and remaining silent conveys a lack of confidence to me. WTF, speak up FFS!

Tend to agree ..
Drunk or Sober, just wave him about
be proud
we have some Super Major Hangups re our Cock and Sexuality alright

ladies are at a disadvantage, when pissing in private, no doubt
but doubt they have as many sexual hangups, like us Males tend to have ..

Never had problems peeing in full display in front of people, its natural for everyone. Couldn't understand people who are about to explode and get stage fright
