Well, relatively speaking I'm sure it is safe. I think the only time it may possibly not be safe is if large drugs are consumed and then the risk is a sexual health risk. I mean, I'm sure crazy Hostel stuff does happen but it's few and far between.

I understand your concern Marley and everyone should look out for themselves but Mr Shephard didn't meet those guys on facebook or myspace or even gay.com. In this day and age, the internet is like the bar scene and it's not really that scary at all. There are easy ways to suss people out anyways. You chat for a bit, you meet in a public space, you let someone know where you're going, you pay attention and you trust red flags or gut instincts.
