For the past few days I have had a dull ache in my testicles...periodically. Usually in the mornings and in the evenings.

I have heard this can be caused by wearing clothing that is too restrictive and I think that may be the case since my trousers are quite tight.

Should I get this looked at or is it one of those things? I am 99.9% sure its not an STD but am wondering what it could be. I also had very sharp pains in my lower abdomen this morning which caused me to double over...I don't think the two are related though. I think the lower abdomen pains are to do with IBS.

Yes, try wearing larger underwear. I find tight underwear (briefs) will press against my testicles and cause pain after a few hours of sitting or laying down. It cuts the circulation off and can cause a varicose vein (varicocele) in the tubes connected to your testicles. As you age you may not realize that you are getting slightly bigger and require a larger size of underwear.

Not to be an alarmist-well, on second thought, that is what I am going to be-you might want to see a doctor post-haste about this. Although the symptoms are not exactly matching up to it, you have described something which is similar to some of the symptoms associated with testicular cancer. One of the differences to this being that the ache is usually in the abdomen and the pain is in the testicles and scrotum.

Other info on testicular cancer:

lump in either testicle
enlargement of a testicle
a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum
a dull ache in the lower abdomen or the groin
a sudden collection of fluid in the scrotum
pain or discomfort in a testicle or the scrotum
enlargement or tenderness of the breasts.

These symptoms are not sure signs of cancer. They may also be caused by other conditions. However, it is important to see a doctor if any of these symptoms lasts as long as two weeks. Early diagnosis of testicular cancer is especially important, because the sooner cancer is found and treated, the better a man's chances are for complete recovery.

only time I've had the described feeling is whenever there's been an absence of activity

I'd start by just not getting alarmed about this. I'm with Nick4444 to start off with. Has it just been a while since you've cum? Or were you really stimulated in a way that didn't lead to orgasm? You might try just stroking off a load to start off with.

Sometimes the sensitive suspension Down There can get knocked around, or stressed, even from sleeping in a funny position or sitting too long in one place.

If it goes on, go see a doc.

On the other hand, all young men should examine themselves for funny lumps in their nuts on a regular basis to avoid testicular cancer. But that's really extreme, and almost every guy gets bumped or stressed in the nuts and the surrounding equipment from time to time.

First of all, you have received some great comments and recommendations. Not knowing how long a few days is, and I know that I have a tendency to not worry about a strange pain and even ignor it you must be realistic.

This is a pain that can, note can have serious consequences. I would book and appointment with your Family Doctor or Health Care provider.

Even if they are not trained in what is going on they can refer you to another Doctor/Professional Specialist.

These are your jewels you are having a problem with. Take care of them and they will take care of you. Additionally the pain the the lower abdoman you discuss should also be checked out soon.

I am not a Doctor or any type of Health Care Worker, but I do know that if I had these problems I would be at the Door of my Health Care professional before it opened and I would be seen that day on a "as available basis." By the way my Health Care Professional is a licensed doctor who just happens to be a Female. We have a great relationship. She is the Doctor and I am the patient and I have no problems with discussing any situation I have with her.

As you note my signature, Enjoy Life, but in order to do that you do have to take appropriate care of yourself.

Let us all know how this is playing out.

once in a while I get a little ache down there, but it never lasts for more than a couple of minutes...

however, the combination of the testicle pain & the abdominal pain would cause me to be concerned...

Thanks for the advice.

There are no lumps on my testicles and they are the same modest size they have always been.

I did masturbate twice last night but didn't cum a lot/wasn't turned on. The sitting one one place too long could be the cause...I'm regularly sat at a desk for at least four hours, twice a day. With my junk all bunched up to one side

I'm pretty sure the pain in my lower abdomen is caused by Irritable Bowel Syndrome which I get whenever I am stressed or tired or suffering some other negative emotion.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I agree better being safe than sorry, "If in doubt check it out" One possibility if you have injured or strained your lower back recently that can send a referred ache into one or both testicules. A discomfort similar to when you get a knock or kick in the balls. If this is the case then after your doctor visit an osteopath or chiropractor for advice and treatment.

I chose to use this post to respond because it deals with one possibility and it is one to check out.

The best way to check your testicales in in the shower with warm water. Things get relaxed and it is easier to find.

If you have a friend whom who trust that has any experience with this and you don't feel to modest, sometimes a friend can help examine and see if they find the same things you find.

HAVING SAID THAT. THESE ARE THE MOST COMM0ON CAUSES:

1. Getting aroused without getting to cum
2. Not cumming enough
3. Need some nutirents missing in diet.

When I was younger I had this ever so often. I found that jacking off as much as possible helps. Sometimes you can have a ilttle infection in the prostate. Nothing helps that more than jacking off and getting rid of the germs and getting the prostate calmed down and reduced in size.

Also, drink lots and lots of water. And pee at the first sign that you need to. Nevermind you have great control and can hold it another four hours. Pee as often as you can. It washing out the urinary tract.

Take Cranberry pills. For some reason they are so good doctors prescribe them for chronic infiections. The strength is not always the same. So always drinnk a full glass of water with every dose of cranbury. In general you need to take cranbury pills at least three tmes a day.

Other supplements that sometimes help are;

zinc,
good multiple vitamen designed for males your age from GNC or other reoognized place
Vitamen C - about a gram either time released or spit the doeses into smaller portions.

I believe the name is close to this spelling L Argine. Don't go overboard, bu8t it sometimes incrases the ejaaculate which helps wash out the prostate.

Don't make a practice of keeping a hard-on without doing something about it, that nearly always causes the problems you have described. Either get your mind somewhere else or be in a place where you can jack off the semen that has built up in the prostate while you were hard for three hours.

If this doesn't work. it is time to see the doc. to find out what is wrong and get it fixed.

I agree. Might be a good idea to at least call your doctor, SLB. If your appendix or something like that is acting up, you don't want to mess around.

Ya my balls ache occasionally when I've been sitting for awhile, sometimes they even fall asleep. I've just been accepting it as normal because nothing seems to be wrong and my doctor has said I'm as healthy as can be

Not to freak you out, but I have been dealing with testicle pain for 12 years. It started out as a dull ache when I was in college, and now it gets so bad I end up in the emergency room on pain meds. It has a few names/causes... Chronic Orchalgia, Abacterial Prostatitis, and CPPS Type III. No known cause and no cure. All you can do is treat the symptoms and learn to deal with it. It gets so bad that some guys opt for removal of both testicles!! I have considered it a few times when laying in the hospital and the pain meds are doing nothing.

However, this only affects 5% of guys in the country, so hopefully you aren't one of them!

Because I have similar symtoms as yours, I have been to see a doctor and now waiting for the results of Lab data and sonogram. The doctor said my case had to be ruled out some urologic disorders that were prevalent in young men;. epididymitis, torsion of spermatic cord, varicocele, spermatocele, inguinal hernia and testicular cancer. Specially a young man whose testicles are in active proliferation has a predispositon to testicular cancer.
so, you'd better see a doctor and check up your condition.
Previous prevention is much better than afterward treatment.

As a physician you should have this checked out... just to make sure it's not anything that needs medical intervention

Really and truly....have you thought about having your back checked out? If you have any impenging of the nerves due to a disc that is either flattened (deflated) or herniated, it WILL cause the symptoms you describe. The nerves are getting squashed as they exit your spine and your brain interprets it as testicular sensetivity. I have had a bad back for about 6 years (used to do massive squats as a weightlifter, then had to give it up after I had a 10mm extrusion from the L5S1 that impenged on the sciatic nerve). Microdiscectomy helped, but did not completely eliminate the sore testicles. A neighbor of mine has degenerative disc disease, where multiple discs are flattening, some bone-to-bone vertebral contact cutting into the nerves and all. He has constant excruciating issues with testicular pain just like yours. You might be able to fix it permanantly with an artificial disc implant or a fusion.

I had a "chronic Epidiymitis" ongoing for years untill I found out I could "Un-twist" the cord from the testicle. Hard to explain, But after years of anti-inflammotaries etc. and real embarrasing reasons to miss work, I figured out I could relieve it myself.
