NineInchCock_160IQ: This isn't the reason at all. Not even close. Did you notice his article on somethingawful started with "man, I wish I belonged to this forum". He's acknowledging that he would like a big penis, maybe is only average, but that has nothing to do with the humor value of poking fun at the site.

The content on this website is so bizarre and off-the-wall, that's what makes it humorous. Personally I take no offense at others poking fun. This site IS pretty strange sometimes. and that's mostly where humor comes from, the contradiction or interruption of social norms. I mean... just look at the name of this group for christ's sake. The Large Penis Support Group. a).. penises in general and particularly penis size is kind of a taboo topic. It makes people uncomfortable talking about penises. It's not what would pass as a normal broadly socially acceptable topic of conversation. Make people feel uncomfortable and you're always going to provoke some nervous laughter. The same thing happened in sex ed class didn't it? The teacher says something about penises or vaginas and half the class breaks out laughing. And that was supposed to be in a very serious academic setting. Here on the internet people are already in a mindset bent on making fun of people and finding the bizarre and unusual so when LPSG pops up on there latest google search they're even more open to laugh out loud. and it's not even just about penises.. it's about large penises. That makes it even funnier. Add an adjective to something funny and you make it twice as funny. Plus the name seems almost to be an oxymoron to some, I'm sure. To the average-endowed world out there, the fact that anyone might need emotional or social support for having a large penis might seem completely nuts. All normal guys aspire to have big dicks and they think that guys who have big dicks get laid more often, play a better game of golf and get elected mayor of their town like those stupid ads about natural male enhancement. A "Large Penis Support Group" to the lay person might at first sound like a support group for people who are dating super models, though there's probably one of those out there too. Everybody's got something to complain about I guess... Anyway that's not even getting past the title of the website and already there is a humor gold mine there. If you get in to some of the actual posts... like... having gay incestual fantasies about grandpa... or the ones that are like "help me my dick is so big I can't find pants that fit"... or 100 others that I could name that I have actually seen on this website..... it's just funny. It's not normal (not that that's necessarily a bad thing), it's dealing with taboo sexual/genitalia-related issues, and there are a lot of strange juxtapositions of ideas on the site.... so.... lots of material for humor.

It has nothing at all to do with envy or hate. Maybe a smidgen of lack of understanding, but that's forgivable. Some people like to laugh at things. If you let them hurt you through something as innocent as laughter you need to toughen up.

Back in March 2002 -- waaaaay back, when we were still on ezBoard with the awful pop-up ads, a website called "HotButteredFunk" caught onto us and started poking fun the same way these guys did. A few of their members joined LPSG and started trolling the board -- and then would go back to HBF and make fun of anyone who fell for the trolls and replied.

Here was what I posted back then about the situation. Even though the names have changed, I think their motivation for abusing us is the same:

In most aspects of our lives, we control our own destinies. As an example, if I'm not happy with my appearance, I can work out, I can lose weight, I can get a tan and a new haircut. Another example: if I'm not happy with my job, I can go back to school, I can seek additional training, I can quit and start freelancing. Change is possible if we choose to do the work.

Unfortunately, penis size doesn't yet fit in that category -- what you get is what you get. If I see some guy who's got nicer pecs than I do, I can brush it off -- Harrumph! I could look like that, too, if I were vain enough to spend ten hours a day in the gym! But if I see some guy who's got a bigger dick than I do, well, I'm totally helpless. He didn't do a damn thing to earn it, and there's nothing I can do about it. What a disheartening feeling of powerlessness.

A board like this then, naturally invites some misbehavior. Folks like JJ Flash x, fiwer, and PrickClick post abusive messages, because abuse is the most primitive and least creative exercise of power. Folks like Charles Harvey post false sizes, because any positive attention -- no matter how brief -- allows them to indulge the fantasy of "what if". Folks who ask you to "plow" them right off without even trying to get to know you haven't outgrown the Porky's mentality that a big dick is sufficient for a great lay, when in fact, it's not even necessary.

Now seriously, Nineinch, you made some good points. I've encountered a lot of poeple who raise a confused eyebrow at the name of this site. Usually I can explain the basics in a few sentences, but it is a concept that very few accept without some form of explaination. I don't really mind being made fun of, but the problem I have with it is that there is a lot of seriously good stuff that goes on here too and articles like that take a few things out of context to make the whole site look silly, and trolling is surely something we don't need any more of.

At the end of the day though, it probably will direct more people here and a few might actually read some of the threads before they pass judgement, so I guess there really is no such thing as bad press.

But he does have some interesting points. For this to be a "support" group, people would think that we would have to have some sort of problem and the general male populance doesn't see being hung or massively endowed as a problem. This leads to the "grass is greener" situation. I mean, my own original perception of this place wasn't too far off from that mentality till I started taking part in discussions and such and found out that being really huge can be as much of a problem as being really small. I should have considered my experience with the dude I knew who was so big that he'd hurt guys and would ask if I would try to perform oral on him. I was busy wishing I was him and not seeing the problems that lie within.

I also notice they picked some of the "random" stuff that comes up and not much of the serious subjects that we address in here. Selective reading strikes again.

I think we should approach some therapists and medical types and see about getting them on the board. There are plenty of issues that we could probably benefit from some "expert" advice on top of the wealth of experience we have here. Plus, it would give us some "legitamacy" as we'd have a resident expert.

I think that the anonymity we offer is a great benefit to people who might not want their practises called into question because of an association with a site like this, primarily because of the perceptions from the outside world. The more I think about it, the less I care what the outsiders think. If they want to come here to learn, they'll always be welcomed, but if they come to attack, ve have vays of dealing vith trolls!

I&#39;m kinda numb to outside pressure for my career. I partially WANT my career to go poof. Then I can actually go do something else. But my office is so non PC that being here won&#39;t matter. The two owners download porn all day. spoolworm: I joined after I heard about the site on SA actualy. I certainley didn&#39;t come to troll or flame or anything like that. I found a site of sincere ppl, who openly discuss subjects that most would rather die than discuss in the real world. I&#39;ve learned a few things, seriousley. I probably would never have found this site otherwise. I mean googling big penis would probably get the wrong results

Flamers and toaders you will always have on even the most obscure forum, but mostly they get bored and leave. Privacy on the net however, is an illusion. So bare in mind that you&#39;re not as anonymous as you think. Posting your full name and adress next to your photo, isn&#39;t a brilliant idea, so to speak.

So in summary: Good job, whoever thought up this site.....

I think they just can&#39;t imagine having a big penis might cause any problems. Because seriousley, why would I care if heterosexual males feel the need to stare at my dick in the showers. That&#39;s not at all annoying...cough cough.

That&#39;s their problem, and the rest of the internet is full of sites that cater to these insecurities. I think that ppl with a bigger penis are allowed to have at least one forum without being mocked.

I&#39;m tired of men who complain about their small penis, and pretend that they&#39;re joking. I&#39;m especially tired of men who keep saying that size doesn&#39;t matter, and that technique is very important. When we all know, that that&#39;s the last thing they think. They think that having a 20" inch penis will make them the best lover in the world, and their having a small(but in reality average) sized wang is the reason their gf&#39;s breaking up with them.

Ok I have to admit, my husband is a member of SA.

He actually msn&#39;d the site to me one night as we were hacking away at our pc&#39;s. He thought it was a gag at first, But I started reading and thought it was cool enough to bookmark. Now I&#39;m here all the damn time reading (there&#39;s lots to catch up on :unsure: ) Now the big joke is, he calls it "my forum" I spend more time here than I do at any of the forums I frequent.
