    cove76 duped
I'm pretty embarrassed to be writing this, but I want some feedback on a recent instance where I was completely bamboozled.

I'm not sure if any of you remember, but a few weeks ago on this board there was a member calling herself exhibitionerica who posted pictures of "herself" and requested pictures to trade. One of the other board members did some quick research and posted pretty definitive proof that "erica" was likely not "erica" at all. The girl in the pics was a former internet web model who used to go by Arika Ames. The likelihood that "exhibitionerica" was "Arika" was shown to be nil.

Anyway, as it turns out, "exibitionerica" is perpetrating the same scam on other message boards. I hate to say it, but I got suckered into "trading" pics with "her." When my suspicions were piqued, I did a little searching and ultimately it was the post from this board, mentioned above, that persuaded me I had been duped.

I shudder to think what will happen to my pics, which weren't the kind I'd like Mom and Dad to see, to say the least. The reason I'm posting now is to ask if anyone knows what the specific purpose of this type of scam is. Obviously, the perpetrator is doing this at multiple boards to maximize the number of images "she" obtains -- this definitely isn't *gulp* for personal consumption. But do any of you have more specific knowledge of this kind of scam and where I might expect my images to appear, beyond mere speculation? If so, please advise.

    God, I'm a sucker.

Well, much like gambling if you can't afford to lose it don't risk it - if you aren't willing to risk such pictures getting 'loose' then don't send them to strangers.

Advice: Learn from this and don't do it again. There's nothing more you can do.

I have been duped and my pics have been used by others many times, probably many more that I don't even know about. At first I was so upset and pissed off but as time wore on I realized that if I'm going to put my pics out there that the possibility will always be there. What it comes down to is that I'm happy with who and what I am and I don't care what others think. You need to decide for yourself if this is true. Best of luck to you whatever your decision may be.

Well, my worst case scenario is that my pics end up on some gay site and someone who knows me stumbles upon them and then the rumor mill starts to grind.

Like I said, if this "exhibitionerica" is soliciting for pics on numerous boards, that probably means "she" wants to maximize the number of images "she" obtains, which leads me to believe that there's some sort of profit/interest in it for "her." (On the board where I was duped, she had already amassed 215 male "friends" on her buddy list within one week of registering.)

If it's just some fruit loop who wants personal material of his own to jerk off to, I don't give a rat's ass. If I'm going to be on some gay XXX website, that's where I'll have a problem.

People jump on my ass in the chatroom when I call out the obvious fakes -- guys who post photoshopped or stolen pics, and guys pretending to be women. Pic thieves are the lowest fuckers on this board. Sorry that happened to you, man.

Most of the "women" on this site are fakes. I have a hard time understanding why guys pretend to be women and once started a thread on the subject:

    http://www.lpsg.org/women-s-issues/43637-guys-pretending-to-be-women.html

My pics have been stolen, too, and it's ridiculous. One fucktard even posted one of my pics in his gallery here. Complete scum.

I used to worry about that a long time ago and then I realized that the person who found my pics on a gay site would also have to explain what they were doing there. Moreover, there are lots of pics of handsome straight men on gay sites. Think of it like the Rock being on the cover of OUT magazine. It could be simple admiration or lust.

Hung Muscle - I love you and I don't care who knows.

    Love you right back, Lexifer.

One caveat to this (as I re-read my post), I gotta say, I feel really sorry for these people at the same time. Can you imagine the lack of self-esteem and high degree of insecurity it takes to steal pics?

Come on, men, be proud of who you are, be happy with your self and your own bodies.

Don't send pics to anyone you don't know beyond a shadow of a doubt is a woman Cove. On this site I'd say about 80% of the women have a good sized cock of their own and that includes the women who've put up pics which are allegedly theirs. Apply your common sense when you look at pics, I view any gallery with only one pic in with suspicion, if someone can manage one pic they can manage a few more and pics that look too good to be true usually are. Fakes are one of my bugbears, I bloody hate liars.

I don't think you can assume it's definitely not for personal consumption. In my experience, there are a lot of people out there who just get off on the various aspects of collecting personal pictures, in part perhaps to have something that can't be found on any websites.

Sorry to hear about this upsetting hassle, and I hope it turns out to be nothing.

Yeah, some people are like baseball card collectors (or pokemon, more aptly). They gotta catch them all.

I understand what you mean. But I am acquainted with and personally know plenty of gay dudes. If it's some closet-case who hypothetically discovered me on a gay site, obviously he would have no incentive to mention it to anyone -- it's not them I'd be worried about.

Like I mentioned before, I could care less if it's a gay dude who's adding it to his personal collection. That's fine -- gay guys have needs too. I'm just concerned that it might be someone who runs a porn site and will use my images as well as those of other unsuspecting chumps. That's potential publicity I DON'T need.

Once your photos have gone into cyberspace they can appear anywhere - never forget that.Don't post any photos where you can be clearly identified unless you really don't give a damn who sees them.
