Dylan o'brien

He would’ve been a good cast choice for the new Dune movie
I think he took a step down from acting after the accident on the death cure set. He obviously didn’t retire but the accident didn’t just changed him physically. he seems less ambitious on his acting career compared to how he was before it happened.

He was in The Internship, Deepwater Horizon, the Maze Runner trilogy and American Assassin. I might be wrong but it seems to me that he wanted to take on more serious projects by taking leading roles that involved more action as time went on before the accident. After that he just voiced bumblebee in his solo movie which really wasn’t much and doing a voice role didn’t require him to be involved in doing stunts, he was just in like 4 episodes of the last season of teen wolf, appeared in 1 episode of weird city which wasn’t really demanding in terms of action, had only 1 role in 2019 again in just 1 episode of Amazing Stories.

again, maybe I’m wrong but for at least during the following 2 years after the accident he seems to have been taking it slower than what the seemed to be aiming for before. Either way, I’m excited to see what the future may bring as he has 3 projects in the way.

Deepwater was in 2016, assassin was released in 2017. The accident was in march 2016 but assassin finished their shooting shortly before and so it could be released as planned while death cure had to be pushed back to January 2018 to let Dylan rest and recover before shooting again.

Lol, this thread. He just looks a tiny bit older to me, and like he's had some experiences that might change the look in his eyes (in still photos). I've actually never seen anyone's facial features analysed to this degree on this site before.

Also isn't it contradictory to tell people that you can say what you want and they shouldn't complain while also complaining about them saying what they want?

Deepwater was before, and American Assassin was after. He talked about how doing the movie helped him get through way happened. And how he had a huge beard in it because he had to wait to shave due to his face still healing

Assassin was after? I remember seeing a lot of bts and promotional stuff from that movie before there were bts pictures of death cure. I thought he filmed american assassin before the accident and death cure after

They started shooting The Death Cure, the accident happened and production shut down all together. When he recovered enough to work, he then did American Assassin before Death Cure got back into production. Don't know WHY it played out like that, just HOW is all.

I thought american assasin was shot even before the accident because the marketing for the movie being released way before death cure started to release behind the scenes pictures. Maybe my memories are just blurry because it was quite sone time ago. Also I remember something about a studio threatening with a lawsuit if he didn’t shoot his scenes for one of both movies

*Supposed rude interview*

You could literally youtube search the words '(celebrity name) rude interview' and you'd see basically every one they'd done. I find it pretty hard to believe that this is true; seems more like someone chasing clout. Especially given that Dylan is pretty well-known for being a genuinely nice person. I don't think I've ever actually seen anyone else say he was anything but kind to them.

And if it IS true, if you listen to the story he absolutely did not want to do the interview, has anxiety and mental health problems and nearly died last year; the studio shouldn't have pushed him into a stressful situation. While I'm obviously not blaming the interviewer, I think people in general need to see things from the perspective of someone who's had to work for like a full day then give interview after interview about why someone should pay for their work.

His sister has actually commented on how stressful it is for him to travel long distances away from his family and friends, not being able to communicate with them for days because of how tired he gets after having to work for hours on set, doing interviews he doesn’t want to do but has to because the studio demands it (might be stressful for him because when he’s not acting he’s not particularly very good on camera if he’s alone, probably because of his anxiety issues) and having little to no intimacy because there’s always people behind his back following him that are either obsessive fans or people from the studio he’s working for that might not have his interest in mind. Fun fact: I’ve done shrooms with Julia O’Brien. I went with a group of about 10 people to snow globe music festival in Lake Tahoe, and she was there with 2 of her lesbian friends. We all stayed in a cabin together the whole time and played games + drank each night, and the first night we took shrooms before heading to the venue. She didn’t ever mention, nor did anyone else, that she was Dylan O’Briens twin sister.Only after we became friends on Facebook a couple weeks later did I see a picture with her and him together at graduation, then I realized they look the same and have the same last name. At first I thought she just took a pic with a celeb, lol. Crazy. I’ve had some interesting experiences with celebrities while I lived in California.

I don't think Dylan is a bad person, and I can't 100 percent say the interview story was true but I personally believe it. It sounds like from his end he was pushed to do it despite not wanting to and the whole thing sounded poorly organized. I could see why he was agitated but I feel bad for the interviewer cuz she was doing her job. For him to insult her career is a low blow and really mean and you can see how personally affected she was by the experience. I think yeah we should definitely be considerate of the circumstances especially regarding his accident and how that has affected his mental health as well as his general schedule but I just hope he at least apologized to her in private. She really did not deserve that from him.

I am on both sides on this. Dylan didn’t have to be mean to her because ultimately it wasn’t her fault that he was forced to do an interview he didn’t want to do and it was rude of him to take it ok her when he finally agreed to do it. But also I think a lot of people don’t take into consideration the other’s point of view when something like this happens. It’s not like he’s a bad person of too entitled to act in a decent way or something. It’s just that the conditions of his job and how the studio manages meetings, interviews, filming schedules and stuff like that may not be the best and it affects his mood and energy to do certain stuff. I mean, he has a problem with doing interviews all by himself because of his anxiety and/or because how exhausted he is (it shows when you compare the interviews when he’s alone to the interviews in which he is with other members of the cast) and people should remember that celebrities are humans too that can have a dad day, be tired, not being in the mood to do something.

From the sound of it this is not the first time he has gotten snappy with people. The person who posted the twitter thread said they met Dylan and overall he was was very kind and pleasant but that at one moment he snapped at them and the person was very taken aback. I don't know if he was having a bad day then but if it is more than once than he is behaving that way I feel like he really might be struggling mental health wise. I don't think he is in the best place if he is lashing out at people on more than one occasion. I hope he learns to better cope with everything. Idk if he got a TBI from the accident but depending on the severity of the accident TBI can really affect someone's personality. Idk but I hope he is ok.
