Ebola crisis: Australia's treatment centre in Sierra Leone to open beds gradually

"I welcome New Zealand's contribution to the facility of NZ$2 million. Australia's total contribution to the Ebola response is now at $45 million," she said.
A total of 6,583 people have died from the disease in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
New Zealand will provide up to 24 clinical personnel to work in the centre.

Senegal had previously closed its border with Guinea in response to the Ebola outbreak. However, it is now allowing the United Nations to use the country as a base to supply aid to affected states.

A new airport terminal is also being built in Senegal for planes carrying humanitarian relief.
