I’ve dabbled in and use personal energy with energetically-aligned partners, including neotantra.
My exhusband was a master in this realm.
I’m seeing someone who blew my mind and soul on our first night being intimate.
It opened us up, and the emotional bonding has been quick and strong (As it was with my ex, so that’s not uncomfortable)
I’m talking seeing colors, losing the sense of time and space, not being sure where one starts or ends.

does anyone else here use energetic forms of sex?

You grow up hearing the exploits of a guy like Sting, or being aware of the sexual aura someone like Erykah Badu implies, it makes the genre of tantric sex an attractive thing to explore...In my experience however, a lot of the women aligned in that manner that Ive come across dont really have the personalities, mannerisms, or values outside of the sexual realm that would be compatible with a long term relationship with me.
And alas, now that we have children, even if my wife was the type to want to delve into these experiences, we really dont have the privilege to forsake time and space when preplanned quickies are all we can manage.

I managed quite well when Spawn was small, the barge-in-at-any-moment level small.

I don’t do the overdone space, loads of incense, zillions of candles part, or the “hey, didn’t someone do this at Beltane?” level rituals.
Syncing our breath, some eye gazing, and just focusing on the others energy has worked well.

Tantra always intrigued me. I wanted to try a tantra workshop but because I am/was worried about the idea of letting someone relatively unknown to be with me like that I never gave it more thought. No one seems to want walk with newbies into this realm.

Is this realm a do or don't sort of thing or is a continual dialog?

Similarly, incorporating massage into this energy work sounds wonderful.

I’d think some Neotantric workshops would be for couples.

IME, it’s dialog, ongoing. It happens in and out of the sheets, too. The energy follows through to making breakfast and doing the dishes. And lunch, and sweeping the floors.
It’s life.

similar energetic work is used in the Therapuetic realm of massage. Especially Craniosacral work, reiki, and similar low touch modalities.
I’ve had cranial vault hold the caused the things I could see opening my eyes to undulate and spiral.
Closed eyes? Wooooooooowwwwwww.

Wherever you discover it - recovery, a shrink, buddhist compassion philosophy... - there is something to be said for the ever-present now, and incorporating that into sex.

Let’s just say I have had Be Here Now in my library more than 40 years. I’m 52.

Oh, if the asexual identity and discussions of sacred/energetic sex seem to clash, nope.
I do sexual things with people to whom I’m attached.
I’m currently deeply in love with an energetic being living a physical coreality, and the physical is exquisite. (Nice butt and all)
All of our interactions connect to this energy.

So the wife spontaneously did the synchronized breathing thing yesterday (maybe she is logging on to my account, because we have never discussed it). Our foreheads were touching and her breathing was the opposite of mine (inhaling as i exhaled, and vice versa), all in sync with our motion.

Definitely hot and definitely effective.

Eyegazing, synched breathing both are powerhouses to connection.

funny thing, at work, I use breathwork with clients. And it’s about syncing to the same inhale/exhale pattern. The opposite of what I do with Him.
It’s weird to get to the lovers breath.
