    I knew he was ill, but I didn't realize how serious it was. My sympathies to his family. :(

    Just got the news too. Very sad.

    He seems "every alive" to me and I think he always will.

    Nice Job Mr. Bradley. You made a difference.

    Lost my grandfather to that disease. My Mom is fighting it now. My turn will come. I hate that disease. RIP Ed.

    Yup. To be born is a sentence of death.
    I vastly admired Ed Bradley's work and like millions of other people, I will really miss him.

    IMO to be born is to be sentenced to a bittersweet life.

    I have an excrutiatingly serious question for you meph which may swerve the thread a bit off-track if you decide to answer it;

    Have you ever considered taking your own life?

    He was a class act in a base profession. I'll miss him.

    There goes one of the classiest men I have ever seen in my life! Ed Bradley was probably the best interviewer to ever grace the television screen. He was a great lover of jazz and his hosting of Jazz at the Lincoln Center will be greatly missed. I don't think any journalist has ever made their subjects feel so damned comfortable, second thought I don't know of any journalist that has ever made ME feel as comfortable as Ed. He also had impeccable style and always looked so great! He was an angel who came to earth and decided that he was going to shine his light on the world by being a journalist. He is greatly missed.

    Yes. Attempted, but have not succeeded....yet.

    Why do you ask?

    I respected Mr Bradley. I just can't figure out how to start a thread about my grief over my sister's death this a.m. She was 53, she lived her life with gusto, she died yesterday a.m. It took me hours to unravel her life enough to be her big brother and take care of her final arrangements. I'm exhausted right now, but I know that many men and women out here are, have, or will go through this...sorry about this bummer post...I'm just hurting so much

    losing someone close to you that you love is never easy, and nothing anybody can say helps for a time--it sounds hollow, and shallow. If you need a freind, feel free to PM me--and we'll chat. I've been through it so many times, I do know what you are feeling, and sometimes it helps just to talk, and have someone understand. Hang in there--one day at a time

    Jack Palance also passed away @ 87 yo. I can't recall, but another famous celeb also was indicated as battling leukemia.

    Stumbled across it, it's Bill Walsh, the former NFL Football SF 49er Head coach of the 80's and 90's that disclosed that he has leukemia as well.
