I saw part of Bush's speech yesterday and I was shocked. It was cruel and made Bush seem even more oblivious than he usually is. This short editorial affirmed my feelings about it.

George W. Bush gave one of the worst speeches of his life yesterday, especially given the level of national distress and the need for words of consolation and wisdom. In what seems to be a ritual in this administration, the president appeared a day later than he was needed. He then read an address of a quality more appropriate for an Arbor Day celebration: a long laundry list of pounds of ice, generators and blankets delivered to the stricken Gulf Coast. He advised the public that anybody who wanted to help should send cash, grinned, and promised that everything would work out in the end.

I just saw Bush make a statement, flanked by his father and Bill Clinton. The tone of his speech was dramatically different from what I saw yesterday. It looks like he either realized the gravity of the situation or someone else (maybe his father) pointed it out. In either case, it was good to see the change from yesterday.

For the most part, I don't care for Bush, but I hope he realizes that this is an opportunity to be seen as a leader. His approval ratings can't get much lower; this gives him a chance to redeem himself with the American people.

BC and bush sr. are quite the dynamic duo of late. I'll never know how Clinton can stomach those two, even for the good of the country, or the world. Mister, he's a better man than I.

I, too, was very disturbed by the tone of his speech. Top that with the lag between the hurricane and his observation of the Gulf Coast and his statement and it all just sucks. He sucks. We know this.

Hey, he flew over aboard Air Force One. What MORE do those stupid fuckers want , who are mostly Democrats by the way, want from the Government? They are poor, so they deserve to die. If they were worth saving, they would be rich Republicans.

The loudest responses to the hurricane that I've heard from Republicans have been:

From the hateful, evangelical wing of the party:

Gay men and other "deviants" caused this hurricane, and New Orleans brought this upon themselves by allowing events like Mardi Gras and Southern Decadence to take place in their city.

From the radical fiscal conservatives:

"Why should my tax dollars go toward helping these people? They were too stupid or too poor to evacuate, and now I have to pay for it?!"

Yes, I know there are wacko Democrats and liberals, but its comments like these that have stood out in my mind over the last couple of days.

If that were actually the case, wouldn't God have waited one more week for thousands of us degenerate homos to flock to New Orleans like moths to a flame for the Southern Decadence celebration? He could've wiped a whole host of us out in one fell swoop if He would've exercised greater patience.

This is not America. This is a Taliban-type fundamentalist WASP-ish regime. I cannot believe such a narrow-mindedness.

My husband was wondering this morning how long it will take Bush to put Dr. No on the terrorist list and go looking for his weather making machine.

It is too bad that most of us are not paying attention. Mainstream America voted for George Bush because he was pro-God, pro-guns, and anti-gay. They didn't really understand what all came with that agenda.....anti-environment, redistribution of wealth upwards, lack of tolerance for anyone who is not a STRAIGHT WASP....This is no America. We might as well use our Constitution for toilet paper or send it to Iraq. We aren't using it any more.

History has given us other extremists who have used terror and threats of terror to push their agenda....Hitler for one, etc. We have to wake up or we are all done for.

What's next ? Inquisition ?

The inquisition has started. My "Christian" friends have all been busy sending these articles out. I know, let's round up the homosexuals and make them wear pink triangles. Or has that already been done...Quote:

If you want to read the whole article, Google your search "Southern
Decadence Day" and you can read the article.
"Hurricane Katrina is America's tsunami though you might not know that
unless you're watching Fox News. What you won't hear anywhere is that this
week New Orleans was to observe "Southern Decadence Day with 100,000
homosexuals gathering there to commit unspeakable acts in public. Previous
events were photographed and sent to the mayor and police officials but they
did not care. They had their own lust: The $100,000,000 the event brings
in."

Pray for the innocent and for this disaster to turn many hearts to Jesus.

Copied from the Southern Decadence Day website:
"New Orleans, LA -
Southern Decadence started thirty-four years ago as a simple going-away
party. As a top gay Labor Day Weekend destination, it has evolved into one
of our world's major annual events. One of the largest annual celebrations
in New Orleans, it has become known as the "Gay Mardi Gras." People begin to
arrive on the Wednesday before Labor Day, and generally don't even think
about stopping or going home until the following Tuesday. With over 100,000
gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender participants last year, the economic
impact on the city was estimated to be in excess of $95 million. Mayor Ray
Nagin has recognized its importance with an Official Proclamation to welcome
the event."

The "Birth Pangs" Intensify
August 30, 2005 Most people know that birth pangs intensify and become more
frequent as the baby is about to be born. Some translations call this "the
beginning of sorrows." And that is exactly what is happening around the
world. News' stories suggest Hurricane Katrina was "a once in a lifetime"
event. How many times in the last five years have we heard that something,
usually a disaster, was "of Biblical proportions? Check out my "Signs in
Nature" category to verify this, at the Web site.

MORE:

Gambling casinos took a hit on the coast as this is where the eye of the
storm hit.

And as America forced Israelis out of parts of their land, hurricane Katrina
was building in the Atlantic. A Fox reporter said, "It must be an emotional
experience (for Americans) to walk away from their homes and not ever live
in them again." Same with those forced out in Israel. Israeli homes are
being demolished as Gulf Coast homes are demolished.

This was America's greatest "evacuation." Now we have "refugees". Israelis
were evacuated and many are refugees living in tents and refugee centers,
thanks to America. The Israeli uprooting will affect their entire economy in
that some of their finest produce which was exported is now left behind.
America's economy could face a steep recession as oil processing refineries
were damaged. Plan to see price increases within days. Will this bring our
economy down? Major industries will be affected from food delivery, jet
fuel, travel, insurance, and so much more with the "ripple effect" of
skyrocketing gas prices.

Luke 21 talks about "the sea and the waves roaring" and "men's hearts
failing them for fear." We must not stop there. It goes on to say, "When
these things begin to happen, look up and know your redemption draws nigh.
As Hal Lindsey and I shared the same platform in 2004, we both said, "He is
at the door." The "birth pangs" can't get much more intense.

If you're in the area, please consider attending the conference with Hal
Lindsey, Sept. 30 - Oct. 1. All details are under "CONFERENCES" at
www.olivetreeviews.org <www.olivetreeviews.org> . We'll talk about how
prophecy signs have escalated in recent years. The Saturday afternoon
program considers current deception in the church with other guests.

Everyone has a mantra today. Mine is this: You cannot understand world
events without the proper interpretation of Bible prophecy. It's as simple
as that.

Let us continue to pray for the "homeless" both in America and Israel.
Millions have had their lives torn apart and our greatest contribution to
them, other than physical needs, is prayer.

I did something wrong on that last reply. The examples given were what I consider negative and not CHristian at all. They did not come from Mark. I, in error, embedded my response into another response. I meant to say:

The inquisition has already begun. Read some of the things that my "Christian" friends are sending out:
