It is too bad that most of us are not paying attention. Mainstream America voted for George Bush because he was pro-God, pro-guns, and anti-gay. They didn't really understand what all came with that agenda...

what amazes me is the fact that so many people still vote republican after every constitutional crisis in the past 70-odd years has been engineered by republican governments. I mean, what exactly were these people thinking?

"yes, well I know that the crocodile bit my leg off last time I invited it into my living room, but I think it deserves another chance..."

August 30, 2005 Most people know that birth pangs intensify and become more
frequent as the baby is about to be born. Some translations call this "the
beginning of sorrows." And that is exactly what is happening around the
world. News' stories suggest Hurricane Katrina was "a once in a lifetime"
event. How many times in the last five years have we heard that something,
usually a disaster, was "of Biblical proportions? Check out my "Signs in
Nature" category to verify this, at the Web site.

Hurricane Katrina is America's tsunami though you might not know that unless
you're watching Fox News. What you won't hear anywhere is that this week New
Orleans was to observe "Southern Decadence Day with 100,000 homosexuals
gathering there to commit unspeakable acts in public. Previous events were
photographed and sent to the mayor and police officials but they did not
care. They had their own lust: The $100,000,000 the event brings in.

Gambling casinos took a hit on the coast as this is where the eye of the
storm hit.

And as America forced Israelis out of parts of their land, hurricane Katrina
was building in the Atlantic. A Fox reporter said, "It must be an emotional
experience (for Americans) to walk away from their homes and not ever live
in them again." Same with those forced out in Israel. Israeli homes are
being demolished as Gulf Coast homes are demolished.

This was America's greatest "evacuation." Now we have "refugees". Israelis
were evacuated and many are refugees living in tents and refugee centers,
thanks to America. The Israeli uprooting will affect their entire economy in
that some of their finest produce which was exported is now left behind.
America's economy could face a steep recession as oil processing refineries
were damaged. Plan to see price increases within days. Will this bring our
economy down? Major industries will be affected from food delivery, jet
fuel, travel, insurance, and so much more with the "ripple effect" of
skyrocketing gas prices.

Luke 21 talks about "the sea and the waves roaring" and "men's hearts
failing them for fear." We must not stop there. It goes on to say, "When
these things begin to happen, look up and know your redemption draws nigh.
As Hal Lindsey and I shared the same platform in 2004, we both said, "He is
at the door." The "birth pangs" can't get much more intense.

If you're in the area, please consider attending the conference with Hal
Lindsey, Sept. 30 - Oct. 1. All details are under "CONFERENCES" at
www.olivetreeviews.org <www.olivetreeviews.org> . We'll talk about how
prophecy signs have escalated in recent years. The Saturday afternoon
program considers current deception in the church with other guests.

Everyone has a mantra today. Mine is this: You cannot understand world
events without the proper interpretation of Bible prophecy. It's as simple
as that.

Let us continue to pray for the "homeless" both in America and Israel.
Millions have had their lives torn apart and our greatest contribution to
them, other than physical needs, is prayer.

RADIO: I will cover this topic hour one this weekend, Labor Day weekend,
with John McTernan, one of the most gifted "watchmen" I know. You can listen
live at www.kkms.com <www.kkms.com> if we're not in your town. It will be
posted to "radio archives" 2-3 days later. We're live Saturdays 9 - 11 AM
with a rebroadcast from 12 - 2 PM Sunday. We are heard in several cities.
Check Web site for details. We headquarter out of AM980 KKMS,
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN.

Well well, I was waiting for this. And sure enough the fundies are cashing in and stirring the masses up. Yep. We "forced" the Israelis out of the Gaza Strip which was Palistinian to being with and so God was pissed and created this huge storm called Katrina and sent it in to punish big bad America and to stop the Southern Decadence Celebration. And then the prophecy stuff starts. Yes, the end of the world with all the horrible horrible things that are going to happen.

What did Jesus say about all of this? He said that no man including himself knew the date when he "Jesus" would return to earth. That is what it says in the Gospels. So if Jesus up in heaven doesn't have a clue when all this is going to happen, how did the funddies trying to cash in on this disaster get the information?

There is a God and nature is something he created. I don't think he goes about changing the weather. "Mother Nature" is set in motion and I don't believe that God changed it to destroy the city of New Orleans and lots of innocent people die. I know there are stories like that in the Old Testament, but those people didn't have the understanding of God that we have today. The Bible is a progressive revelation of God. God is still revealing and we keep getting "new" understandings about God.

These "prophets" have been around now for many generations. I know that this "prophecy theology" started in America in the early 1800's. I have been given the date for the return of Christ by these folks. They predicted it in the 60's from big bad Russia. Then each decade they have predicted to to happen. I was assured that Jesus would come back in the year 1998. Every calamity is used as an excuse to stir people up.

Jesus will come back all right. And he will let us know when he gets here. If you believe in Jesus, what are you afraid of? Going to heaven? Since when is meeting the Savior of the World supposed to be such a traumatic event?

This last paragraph was aimed at the Christians who professs to believe in Jesus, not at the non Christian world.

We need to be stirred up all right. Why were the poor, sick and black left to die and others saved in New Orleans? Do you really believe that thousands of upper middle class "any race" would have been left like that? Why have each of us done individually to help our neighbors, here and other places? These are the real questions that need to be answered and each person has to answer for himself or herself.

Well, some of us can't afford much, but I gave a pint of O-positive blood. I also went out and donated some old clothes, ramen, spam, and bottled water.

I hope you right-wingers served in war as zealously as you advocate it.

I donated what money I could spare to the Salvation Army. I have been trying to find a place where I can donate actual supplies but I haven't had much luck with that. They only had one drop off where I live and it wasn't open for long before they packed up and hauled the stuff down there. By the time I found out about it, they had already left. If anyone knows any place I can send stuff to, let me know.

Call your lcoal United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Church has a relief agency nationwide and is collecting supplies and have drop off places all around the nation. I know that UMCOR is making up survival kits and flood kits.

Other churches have done the same.

We "forced" the Israelis out of the Gaza Strip which was Palistinian to being with
well, we also forced the palestinian arabs out of their homeland when we created israel 60 years ago, so at least we're being consistent in fucking everyone else's shit up :eyes:

I just hope the hatred all of you feel for the President is matched by your zeal to help donate money or some kind of effort on behalf of the citizens of New Orleans.

You can bet your life that we in my family are giving all we can. We sent material there today, we have donated money, and we have offered our homes for folks who need them.

We have offered rooms in our homes...not the whole home. WE are expecting folks here. We are in Texas, and already some folks have come to our small town.

You know God has an itchy trigger finger from time to time... We all know that tends to accompany a jealous and wrathful nature. :eyes: I just wonder what those tsunami victims we were hearing about for so long did to incure His wrath. Dr. Rock and I theorize it's because they were brown, but you never can tell what that wacky deity's up to these days, now can you?

Did anyone catch Bill Maher last night? He had a professor on to discuss global warming, and the fact that a lot of the right wing camp will try to tell you it's a subject being debated in the scientific community. The professor (who IS a member of the scientific community, and not a politician imagining what scientists discuss amongst each other) confirmed that the vast, vast majority of scientists agree that global warming does exist, and is becoming an increasingly serious problem, especially where the influx of hurricanes over time is concerned. Bill suggested they name "global warming" something scarier to get people to give a shit about it... I'm thinking all they have to do is blame it on Bill Clinton's BJ somehow and it will be taken care of within the month.
...You know, a moth flaps its wings in Bali, we get rain, BC gets a hummer a decade ago, and ALAKAZAAM!, global warming.

The show also went on to explore the possibility that no one acted more quickly to help these people because, in addition to being poor, many of them were/are (depending on how dead they are at this point) black. If this had happened to, say, and affluent, predominately white 'burb in CT, these people would probably have been rescued via cruise ship. Or pegasus. (Yeah, I added that part.)

To all of you donating, here's an interesting fact about the Red Cross:

The Red Cross, under the Liberty Fund, collected $564 million in donations after 9/11. Months after the event, the Red Cross had distributed only $154 million. The Red Cross' explanation for keeping the majority of the money was that it would be used to help 'fight the war on terror'.

I imagine that there was a practical limit as to what they could actually spend the money on at the time; I'm surprised they even found a legitimate use for as much as $154m given the relatively small scale of the damage and casualties.

why they appear to be holding onto the money and making bullshit excuses, instead of spending it on any of the other million-and-one causes that actually NEED it right now, is a whole other question.

NO, you may not have a refund. Sheesh.

They have payments to make on the fleet of Gulfstream G5's, maintenance on the Park Avenue suite of apartments, the Red Cross "Balls" which cost millions every year, fact finding missions, gold embossed letterhead, the staff of over 3,000 in administration, the bills for the PR firm on retainer, 50 or so full time lawyers...oh, don't forget those board meetings every year on a tropical island.

It takes BIG BUCKS to run that company, ah, I mean, charity. 50 cents out of every dollar, give or take a few hundred mil.

Try 91 cents. They're still one of the most cost-efficient charities around.

They sure are when you consider the fact that private jets, penthouse apartments, fat cat balls and private resort islands are "program expenses." And don't forget, the bulk of their "support" goes overseas. They didn't even send staff and supplies in to New Orleans until Friday. Cost efficient my hairy ass.
