my bad, was just wondering why it was in politics. Yeah, it is a shame how we are being poisoned. Most of the food we eat is either contaminated or pumped full of hormones. That is why we are all sick and dying in America. That and all the moosaleums.

this has to do with neo-cons or something?

well, in a way it does since the neo-cons want to ensure everything is privatized and the government shuts down all forms of oversight, inspection or rules enforcement.

this case, like the banking debacle, are perfect examples of what happens when capitalism is left to run unfettered.

Yup, the FDA has set standards for the quantity of acceptable insect parts and rat poop that canned, bottled, and packaged foods can contain. Always has been a bit of a poop loop hole there.

Speaking of working in bad places: I spent one week working graveyard shift as a temp at a candy company during their pre-Easter rush. There is a very good reason NOT TO EAT marshmallow squares coated in toasted coconut. Peeps. Chocolate rabbits. Candy Easter eggs. Yike's-ola! Imagine what kind of Hell hole a three-shift a day candy company must be like and then think about the skills necessary to work in one. No one but junkies, skid-row bums, and folks recently sprung from prison work at such places (and the occasional college student needing money for books). Each candy handler was expected to have one pair of plastic gloves. However, they weren't necessarily expected to wear them!

That was back in the mid 1970's. I'm certain things have only become worse since then.
