Oh, Trump's been taken off Twitter...
Yes, I was struck by one of the banners that a protestor was holding. It said something along the lines ofSo true.
It's "red scare" tactics from the Cold War. Replace communism with socialism. It's the same tired rhetoric and dog whistle for right wingers. Those who voice it are modern day Joe McCarthys.
* I don't know if this was meant as CCP, Chinese Communist Party, or whether someone hadn't told them that the party ended for that particular party in 1991.
I plucked that as an example - possibly an appropriate one! - although there is a question over how much of that (and other vaccines) were funded by various governments, and how that should be reflected in any share of the profits, has not quite been addressed...While I am a Pfizer shareholder (albeit a minor minor minor one) their profits under Medicare-for-all will still be generous just no longer obscene.
It's hard to tell. They seemed to be dressed as Vikings. Fuck knows what they think actually happened in history. Are Trumpsters even smart enough to know the difference between the CCCP and the CCP?![]()
Where's the tear gas? If those were BLM protesters there would be dead people. BLM camped in a park across the street and got the shit beat out of them. These guys storm the Capitol and the police fall back?
Granted these assholes are probably armed to the teeth. Piss off with any BLM equivalency.
Machine guns. Grenades. Tanks. All would have been used. A little Tiananmen Square US-style.
BLM didn't storm the US Capitol building to start an insurrection, putting the lives of Congress, the Speaker of The House, and the Vice President in danger.
False equivalence.
The lines have been drawn, those GOP congressmen know that Trump tried to get them and the Vice President killed today.
I honestly thought Trump would spend his final days wreaking the environment, tearing up treaties and laying the escape tunnel for him and his cronies... not engaging in this undignified omnishambles.
Clearly, I over-estimated the man.
"Always with a liddle humour, my dear Markov..."Exactly. Trump invited insurrectionists, anarchists, and domestic terrorists to D.C. and the White House didn't even call the National Guard to protect the Capitol. D.C.'s mayor did to protect the city.
Pence had to call the National Guard while hiding out in a fkng BUNKER. Take a look at what they had ready for BLM:

PRECISELY.
CLEARLY.

Trebles all round!I expect Pfizer's profits on C19 vaccine will be obscene.
Perhaps we'll finally get some legislation holding social media players like Twitter to account for not vetting content.
After what happened today, Twitter and Facebook better be prepared for a colonoscopy.
Whatever it is, it has too put him in the limelight - if not for political reasons then absolutely for financial reasons. He needs the inflow of donations to keep him from personal bankruptcy. So whatever it takes to keep the base paying for all his personal debts. What will his next move be? Two weeks left.
This just in: I live daily with a rare incurable disease. I am dependent on the hormone drug hydrocortisone. I have Addison's disease. No one would ever guess that I have a rare incurable disease if I didn't tell them. Why? Because I'm pro active. I take care of myself. I work every day because I depend on me. Even on days that I can barely lift my head off my pillow. I force myself up, in the shower, and off to work. It's the way I was raised. Nobody is going to take care of you, but you.
It's not my fault that people get out here and make bad decisions. Nor do I rely on other people to come take care of me.
I know that everyone born in this country has the same right to live as they choose. Some just make bad choices. Some continue to make bad choices.
I work so that I can afford health insurance and prescriptions. Even though one of my prescriptions cost me $386, that's after insurance. Who do I blame for the cost of these prescriptions? Both Democrats and Republicans? Why? Because big pharmacy lobbyists pander to them and, lining their pockets is far more important than me and you having affordable prescriptions.
It's not hard for me to understand why these people are out protesting. It's not that I agree with them. Honestly I find their behavior disgraceful, just like I did last summer with BLM. However, I support their right to protest no matter how much I disagree or dislike it.
It's a free country.

I wonder if the owners of Parler have taken that into account?Perhaps we'll finally get some legislation holding social media players like Twitter to account for not vetting content.
