I wonder if the owners of Parler have taken that into account?

Accounts connected to supporters of Trump, QAnon and far-right anti-government group III%ers explicitly or implicitly call for violence on Parler, with some asserting Wednesday, “the war begins today.”
Pro-Trump riot at Capitol incited on Twitter, Parler: 'Burn down DC' (usatoday.com)

Given that to post on there, you have to provide information to confirm your identity, part of me thinks that Parler is an FBI honey trap.

The FBI is going to be plenty busy this year. Lot of terrorists to lock up

No one would ever guess that you have a rare incurable disease if you didn't tell them. Why?

Because you're fucking lucky, that's why. If you had something like MSA, which killed my brother this past year, you wouldn't be taking care of yourself, forcing yourself up and in shower, working every day because you depend on you. You'd be lying helpless in a bed, barely able to speak, suffering from bedsores eating holes in your back because you can't move. You would, in fact, be relying on other people to come take care of you, because that's all you'd be able to do.

People like my brother didn't make a bad decisions; they were simply the victims of horrible shit that happened to them. So while it's great that you can work to afford health insurance and prescriptions, don't assume that's an example everyone can follow. Healthcare needs to be more than just an individual responsibility.

Luck has nothing to do with it. Sheer determination and will power has everything to do with it. Taking charge of one's own responsibility. Researching every thing I could find out about the disease I have even I was first diagnosed. After being sick for three long years before they finally was able to determine what was wrong with me.

I'm all for people having insurance who can't afford it or otherwise need it. I'm not for a one size fits all approach to universal health care.

I do what's best for me. I count my blessings and thank my creator for everything.

Everyone can follow my example who is able. Sure there are those who aren't able to. But by and large the vast majority would be better off working keeping their bodies active instead of depending on disability and universal health care.

Luck has everything to do with it. Sorry, little man, but there's only so much you can control.

You are right in the control aspect. Luck had nothing to do with me having a disease unless you consider it bad luck.

Being proactive seeing my doctors regularly taking care of myself. Keeping my muscles and bones strong to avoid the effects of medication by being active in the gym. Otherwise I would never have joined a gym. Never worked out prior to being diagnosed. So yeah, taking charge of ones own circumstances and life is a personal responsibility.

A personal responsibility that only goes so far. Work out as much as you like; you're still going to die. Mostly likely, you're going to need extended end-of-life medical care. You won't always be able to take care of yourself. And in fact, you don't now--you're only able take those actions on your own behalf because others have put those resources in place for you. You wouldn't even know what disease you had, or what steps you might take to address it, if it weren't for the hard-earned expertise of others.

Deny it as much as you like, but we're a society, and we depend on each other. People should do as much for themselves as they can, but it's dangerously myopic to think they can do it all, or do it alone.

I support the right to protest. God knows we had to put up with protest most of last year. Only difference now is it's the right protesting. If it were BLM and those other groups you'd be alright with that.

I see where you stand it's only wrong to protest when they don't represent your view. Gotcha!
The protest turned into a seditious attack. If it had been the BLM protesters storming the Capital the area would have been littered with dead.

Especially if they'd had as much prior warning as they had for yesterday's insurrection.

Explain to me how it's any different than what BLM did last summer? Destruction of property. When BLM did this last summer you all called out peaceful protests. Now because it's white people it's not?

I will say that they are responsible for their own actions.
There is a difference between a seditious mob and BLM protests.

There is a difference between a seditious mob and BLM protests.

And a difference between breaking into the Capitol Building and Macy's.

And actively fomented by the President.

And the level of armament.

And that fact that this seditious insurrection is based upon unfounded lies, whereas BLM is founded on continued prejudice toward African Americans.

We're all going to die.
For three years my dr tested me for everything. Couldn't find anything wrong with me until I got double pneumonia and pleurisy. I was in full blown Addisonian crisis.

I take my medication like I'm supposed to. You can talk that village bullshit all you want. Maybe that's what you need but I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself. It's all in how one was raised. Obviously we weren't raised the same way. But I was raised by a marine, and I can't isn't part of my vocabulary.

Right over your head. Oh well, never mind.

Really how do you figure? BLM didn't storm the capital but they sure as hell burned down businesses and looted businesses that didn't belong to them. They also beat owners of businesses. But hey, that's ok the difference is the color of the players.

There are reports that done off the protesters yesterday were also protesting last summer with BLM antifa. Time will tell the tale.

That is speculation at best. How many mayors told their police chiefs not to interfere with BLM last summer?

You are on the wrong side of history by defending yesterday's events. I will not engage any further with you here because I respect you for still being here expressing your opinion. The trolls have all disappeared but you are a real voice of opposition and that needs to be accepted as such. Though I cannot accept your point of view, I also see you on this site as a very decent person offering kind words and welcoming new members.
