Agreed. And in my 43 years on this earth, I've come to the conclusion that they're actually inversely related. Generally, the more gifted and talented the musician, the less physically attractive he/she will be (with a few random exceptions).

It makes no difference to me how old someone is - as Evie said, we should all be so lucky as to make it into our 60s and beyond. Even in his heyday of the 70s and early 80s, I never found him physically attractive. Now, when I look at him, I see a bitter, vicious, condescending twat. It doesn't help that he not only seems to seek out situations that irritate the gay and/or liberal communities but revels in them - the two that jump to mind are taking a million bucks to sing at Rush Limbaugh's wedding and holding Eminem's hand at whatever awards show that was a few years ago.

I think I could forgive things like I mentioned above if he had even one half-decent song since 1990. Nikita and a few other songs from around that time frame I thought were good, but every. single. song I've heard him sing in the last 20 years has been a steaming pile of shit. And his voice now is nothing even remotely close to the way it was before. Elton John performing Daniel or Crocodile Rock in 2012 should come with a warning sticker for your ears.

So I guess that's another 'no' vote here.
