Some guys are just so full of themselves. Wear what is comfortable for you period. I wear briefs and hate boxers. I don't like the extra fabric that boxers always have (even the boxer briefs) and for some reason the boxers seam always rides up my ass which I hate.

I have "hockey legs" from playing hockey for many year so if I wear boxer briefs the bottom of the legs will "ride up".

Similar thing while in high school. Boxers were definitely considered to be the cool underwear. But with all the spontaneous teenage boners, I hated hanging loose and free. One buddy of mine would actually wear tighty-whities UNDER his boxers if you can believe that.

I've always worn tighty whities and never thought to do otherwise even when my insecure classmates would run out and buy boxers solely because one of the more "popular" guys in gym class would show up wearing them. yeah i was in the same boat as you. like EVERYONE in the changeroom where i live wears boxers. didnt want to be the odd one out so i got boxers. now i can't go back, that other shit is too constricting and i like all the extra space with boxers it hangs down ur leg.
Whenever i see a grown man in tightey whities i kind of chuckle, they are like little kid underwear to me. or old people who cant control their bowels.:smile:

Where I come from all the guys in High School and for the most part from what I see at the gym still wear basic white briefs, mostly because we all wear Wrangler jeans, which are tight by nature, boxers would bunch up too much, besides a cowboy like myself needs the support only briefs or a jock can provide; thus I never have been embarrassed by wearing briefs.

I agree with Monster. I hate boxers, no support. I do remember when my mom bought my underwear. Always tightie whities and then my dad bought me a pair with "The Kangaroo Pouch" by Munsingwear and they fit much better. Anybody else remember the Kangaroo Pouch?

High school is brutal for peer pressure. "tighty whities" are portrayed as un-manly underwear, while "boxers" are the in-thing. So peer pressure makes everyone wear boxers just because boxers are "in".

If you're a tall and a guy who has success wih sports and girls, you could wear tighty whities and not be the brunt of jokes. But if you are a normal (or a short/weak guy), you'd be an easy target.

You could respond "why are you interested in my underwear, are you gay ?" and you'd be assure that guys would no longer look at your underwear.

Or you can mention "I don't let others dicate what underwear is comfortable to me."

I remember those Kangaroo Pouches. Bought some by accident ages ago and hated them. No support. The design didn't provide any kind of backup weight support so the opening started sagging from the time you put yourself in them and it only got worse as the day went on- and I don't consider myself anything that significantly above average down there, either.

I have a few tighty whities. I grew up wearing them, then in high school I switched to boxers. In college I switched to boxer briefs and now I am back and forth between boxer briefs and briefs. I dont have many white ones but the ones I do have are very comfortable.

Why do you perpetuate a stereotype that all gay men are interested in other men's underwear? I'm certainly not. And straight men certainly can be interested in what other underwear other men like and don't like, etc., without lusting after a particular man's underwear or all men in underwear.

OK, I didn't express myself correctly. Most men, especially in high school, would be affraid to be labeled "homosexual" by their peers. So, when a guy teases you about your dick or underwear, you can respond by questioning why he is attracted to your genital area, and you may find the guy, out of fear of being labeled "gay" by his peer, will stop focusing on your genitals/underwear.
