I don't know about others, but I've never had that much love for this country, not since I was little and thought being English actually meant something. But does anybody else feel like we've lost our way? This country is now nothing more than a USA cockjockey. If USA was Mr Burns, we'd be Smithers.

I have given up reading papers since like last year as the "tragedy porn" gets worse. I just get more fuct off with what my mates and fam tell me... We are a politically correct, health-and-safety wankfest of an island.

Don't take my rant as racist or fascist that's not the point I'm getting at but if you do, fuck you I don't care I hate black people yella people and white pale skin people just as much as each other, Kunts.

Anyway, Christmas is coming up and I'm a bit of a scrooge but my sister loves it and at work she has been told no one is to put up xmas cards or any xmas decorations as it will upset the Hindu and Muslim workers.....yet the same workers will get the same holiday for xmas and new year. If they was that upset should they not have the xmas holiday and work through it?

Another one is this old dude (probably a nonce) used to go round with this car that was done up as reindeer with a trailer done up as a sled. He would roll around the area dressed as santa, just throwin out sweets and blasting xmas carols from a sound system. It was all good for the little mans and gals round my way but the council have stepped in and stopped it as he was not in a vehical that could be taxed, and for safety reasons his sledge may cause an accident. He has done it for 15 years and never ever caused an accident.

Makes me think what is this shit? We don't even have a national day off for St Georges day, it seems the minority rules the majority and the stupid overrules the sensible.

England used to have a culture and little traditions that are all being lost or killed off. This does not happen any where else just here....okay, maybe in Tibet, but still its a shame.

The other day I heard about some little village in the middle of nowhere had a morris dance display that was stopped by the council in fear the sticks being used would hurt someone or the bells would fall and hurt someone.....

Yet this is the same country that Baby P can get tortured and killed by 3 animals, but a fathers pleas are ignored and council officials, social workers, doctors and other people let him slip through our "great" systems.

The ECM was set up by Ed Balls to stop this ever happening again and it did just as bad, how that can happen again and people keep their jobs I dunno... only in fukin England. Seems we have people high up who care about the small things not the major things...

Anyway God save the Queen Royal Britannia and all that old bollocks.

    Yours annoyedly, an opinionated cockney...

Oh shut up you little twat. Try visiting some other countries before judging it.

I moved away from England and the grass isn't greener elsewhere - in fact most other places the grass doesn't even grow.

Save your sub 6th former angst essays for your student magazine and grow up.

    Calm down, dear.

Its easy to pluck out examples of stupid PC behaviour. Im sure every country has that kind of OTT nonsense. But in 99.9% of workplaces those kind of silly rules are not applied. Do keep things in perspective. The reason these kind of stories make the press is because they are unusual.

I think youll find that political correctness has now infected the entire Western world - even France! Hopefully, common sense will win through at the end of the day.

I am proud to be English, and there are a lot of things wrong about England right now, go to many public places and you'll find this a topic of conversation, our culture is definitely changing, and we are becoming more of a nanny state. I even had my sparkler confiscated by a policewoman at a bonfire night in Lewes. And I'm a 38 year old born and bred country fella! I had a few words!

Luckily we are democratic, and hopefully a new goverment will set about undoing some of the damage that has been done. There is always hope, and there a lot of things that are still wonderful about England. The countryside, the melting pot of creeds that are proud to be English/British, the rural communities, the festivals that we still adhere to, the sense of justice that prevails generally, our sense of history.

Times are hard here and elsewhere in the developed world,
there is a general undertone of dismay and anxiety which reveals itself in everyday life. Try looking on the bright side...that's the mantra my family uses right now as our business suffers...badly.

Man, I was just gently waving it and showing my partner (who had never seen a sparkler before!)....when a police woman TOLD me to drop the sparkler. I asked why, she said because 'it is a danger to the general public'...then my rant began...'don't be so ridiculous', 'I'm 38 years old', 'what the hell is happening to this country'..etc, etc, etc...but let's not go there!

I have travelled quite a bit, and believe me, there are not many places anywhere as good as Britain.
