Cigar babe:

Think Atticus (Gregory Peck)in )To kill a mocking Bird, Coach Yost (Will Paton) Remember the Titans, "Brock" (Christopher Rich) on "Reba" (American regional sitcom) Dan Seaborn on the Radio.

This is what I am thinking of - not "rednecky"
There isn't anything wrong with those accents though
it's just to my New Jersey ears, the one's above sound pleasant

I like certain English accents--the ones I can understand. I like the way Joan Collins talks. It's not a strong accent and she annunciates every word. Some I've heard are so garbled, it's like me trying to understand someone talking in Chinese. It's interesting when people with English accents sing; they don't have an English accent. I wonder if that's because they grew up listening to American music? The Beatles had accents, and John Lennon's was stronger than Paul McCartney's, but when Lennon sings, you don't really detect an English accent. But occasionally, on certain words you can hear it. Matt Monroe, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, and quite a few others have accents that are barely detectable when singing.

Yeah,I see what you meant more clearly now Matt, but I don't know
too many men,{just one} with those kind of pleasing, southern accents.
The ones I can think of,sound like "Larry the cable guy"!
I do love talking with lil' pee wee though, who is from Liverpool,he was
a little hard to understand, for us,here in Boston, Mr. Ed only catches one or two words, but I adore it! I like most accents except for "southie",Taunton"
or "Larry"!

No_Strings is rather pleasant to listen to. He could say that most disgusting, heinous things and I would still find them to be the height of charm.

When I know where a poster is from, I tend to read their words with what I think their accent might sound like.
So when someone is from England and they write something Californian like "Dude...you are sooo totally awesome.." my small brain just can't compute it.

I've always found that having a Brit accent gives an air of intelligence

Really? I assume the exact opposite. To me, they stink of unintelligence and 'commonness'.

Crazy yanks.

I can't stand most English accents. (Because I'm English myself?)

I dislike any English TV or movies simply because I have to endure the accents.
Most sound posh, snooty and 'fake' to me.
