Actually a legit concern - if the bags are not disinfected it is going to be a problem. Canvas bags would be better - if people will take the time to clean them. Given all that is going on right now - it reminds me of this -

I’m a canvas bag user, and have Ben since the late 80s. I lived in England for a year and then Mexico for a few months (later) and that reset my tolerance for flimsy bags. Being smarter in the pollution pipeline was a benefit.

when I go into a grocery, I have my canvas bag on my shoulder. The other reusable bags, keys wallet and phone all hang out inside. It has become a temporary purse.
I’ve already brought the outside world in.

So in say, Trader Joe’s, I’m carrying the bag, but I have to place my groceries back in the hand basket, go to the car, or pause on the sidewalk, and bag my groceries there. Then I go back into the store to return the basket.
Sprouts, one block away, allows me to use these durable, non ripping bags without hassle.

I wash my bags after use. I have enough to do so even with slow drying.
Guess which store will keep my custom long after this stage is over?
