Erections getting weaker

revilo8888: I' 35 years old. My penis isn't that big. But my wife thinks it really is. It is 7.3 inches long and has 5.5 inches girth.

My problem is, that my erections are getting weaker. The erection angle is less high as it was some years ago. My wife thinks, that it's because of the big size. She thinks the more volume the penis has, the more problems it has to get really hard. So the age factor counts twice.

I don't believe her. But maybe she is right?!

Probably not. As I passed my mid-30's, I noticed a decline in erectile performance. But, the problem is not a physical one, as I somtimes still get morning wood that could be used to pound in railroad spikes, and from time to time am in a situation that gets me similarly aroused. But, I rarely get spontaneous erections, etc, as when I was younger. So, I don't think my problem is the plumbing getting old, but rather just a decline in libido. In other words, the problem is between the ears, not the legs.

Things like Viagra have only a modest effect for me (further suggesting the problem isn't physical), but you might want to try these. In my case, my doctor found that my testosterone was borderline low. Testosterone replacement therapy helped somewhat, although the effect seems transient. That is, when I first went on the testosterone, the effect was very strong, but then faded to a more modest level. However, it is still worthwhile, and while I don't have the dick I had when I was 25, I really don't have anything to complain about now.

XXLHS: Do you jog and are you fit or fat?

I am mid 30's and part of it is the whole better penis control concept... not as much spontanious hard-ons I would think... but also if your not having a good solid erection then it's time to ask the urologist - a good test, do you ever wake up with a good hard erection? if yes then its not physical, if no, then you need to talk to the doc as it probably is physical.

Now, I jog and I mean alot, because when I don't the muscules that re inside that control all that get weak... a good way to tell... if you shoot rather then dribble... if you shoot, your ok, if you dripple (also if you have issues with bathroom useage - both that is as far as getting things done quickly and without strain or in the case of up front leakage) then you need to strengthen your pelvic muscles... and honestly only thing I have found that does it is jogging.

if you jog a few miles each day, within a couple weeks you should notice a difference, also eat healthy and drink lots of water. Great sex is possible without drugs or anything else into mid and later life... just have to work the bod and keep fit.

Let us know if you try this out, I know it works for me, but if you confirm it we might be on to something, exercise is important for good sex... *Wink Nodd*

revilo8888: I have sport. I do mountain biking, swimming and jogging. I run about 25 km the week. I think sports isn't the problem!

Are you getting enough sleep then - that is about the level of activity I was at a while back and due to lack of sleep, I didn't have much going on til I started to get in my normal (for me) 8 hrs... and I quit the caffine and soda all the way also. I read some where that large amounts of coffee at later ages will sometimes cause this issue in some men and cutting back or dropping is supposed to help.

Have you tried green tea on occassion? and Zinc/vitamin E are supposed to help... if nohting else - Try "The Ropes" (Ogilpex) its a european suppliment that is reported (by rep sources) to help make erections hard and increase the amount and shooting of semen (essencially an orgasim enhancer).

Hope maybe that helps.

Some decrease in angle just happens but the quality of the hardess of your erections can be well-maintained. The most important thing to maintain them is Kegel exercises. Working those internal muscles. These are the muscles you use to stop your urine flow in midstream or to make your erection "jump-up" when hard. Start with 10 or twenty reps, good strong contractions and do several sets of them. Gradually increase the number of them you do to several hundred a day. Do some of them fast, and some of them slow, but do them all completely. Do them any time you have to wait: at an elevator, at a stop light, during commercials on the radio or TV. In a few months you will be amazed. Side benefit: your orgasms and your ejaculations will be stronger!

All the suggestions mentioned so far are good, and you should try them. One other thing you might look into, if you have not had this done recently, is getting your doctor to check your cholesterol level, which is a good thing to have done anyway. If it is high, your doctor may start you on a cholesterol lowering drug.

What makes me think of this is my own personal experience. You obviously get lots of exercise, and I assume your diet is at least halfway decent. I had similar habits and a couple years ago--to my surprise--my doctor diagnosed me with super high cholesterol. Given my age, diet, and exercise habits, he said I must have a hereditary cholesterol problem and he put me on medication for it. When my cholesterol level went down, I was very pleasantly surprised to see my erections go to a whole new level. I thought they were fine before, but now they are super!

Before, I didn't think I had a real "problem," but I had been noticing that my really rock hard erections were fewer and farther between than when I was younger and it took me longer to get hard. I assumed this was a combination of age and size and not much I can do about it. Now I think this cholesterol problem must have been building up for a few years and affecting my erections. It makes sense, since cholesterol clogs up blood vessels.

Anyway, I can't say whether cholesterol is part of your problem. I'm just saying it's worth checking out if you haven't been tested for it recently.

meaty: Please have a complete physical w/ doctor to rule out heart disease, diabetes, etc. Let him know the specific concerns you have, don't be embarrased. Docs hear about the concerns regularly. I would strongly consider a trial of Levitra or Cialis to improve the rigidity of your erections. These meds have helped many men w/ strengthening their erections. Also I would ask for complete bloodwork-maybe your testosterone is low and you may need replacement therapy. Good luck and Keep us posted!!!
