This might be an age thing also. When I was in my teens, I'd get a hard-on for no particular reason. I'm much more used to my body now (I'm 26), so it doesn't seem to happen as often. As other folks here have said, just relax & enjoy your body & these experiences. It will change.

Reading these replies tells me there are a few guys who had the same thought I did my first semester in college. I attended a small Baptist college in 1971, and lived in a same sex dorm. The showers were in the middle of the building. I decided early on that since it didn't matter I was not going to get dressed to go take a shower. So it was a towel around the shoulders and off to the showers for me when the time came. I quickly earned the nickname "Woodstock" from a guy who was stoned about 90% of the time. No comments about a stoner at a baptist coolege, okay? The nickname stuck.
The fellow in the room across the hall could have been on the cover of Men's health. He was well hung and wore every style and color of underwear you could think of. This was in a dorm of mostly conservative young men who wore tighty whites and boxers or more when they went down the hall to the showers. I admit to having to quickly put my towel over my arm a few times as I watched him wearing them on his way to the showers and back. He was incredibly straight and sure fun to look at. Try having a conversation standing there bare ass while you're looking at this incredibly good looking and not getting hard!
Modesty among men has gone toward the more modest again. Wait a few years and it will go the other way again. I remember my cousin saying to me that by the time I got to his age we'd all be running around naked. I was about 10 at the time and he was about 20. I am almost 52 now. Give it time...

I used to get hard-ons all the time at the strangest places, the dentist (they lay you down and my dentist happens to be pretty hott), on long car rides, and of course in class all the time. When changing at school I got em about 50% of the time. I knew I wasn't the only one but sometimes it did attract unwanted attention so I'd try to hide it with my towel or by standing in the corner. As I've gotten older I've learned to control myself better but it's often hard in some circumstances. When I am dressed like in class or something I normally tuck it up against my belly to disguise it. Once though, my shirt got pulled up exposing my dick head which was poking out a good inch or so.

Even at 35, I still get boners all the time. Being 10 inches and wearing boxers, it's hard to hide it, so I try to do the best I can to be sitting down, or behind a desk or have a shirt untucked or something. Often I can manage to get it to go sideways up my hip to avoid popping out the top of my boxers, but they never seem to come on for any good reason--like the one I got while sitting through the sermon at church Sunday. I think popping wood in public once can have a real effect on a guy's comfort with getting undressed in front of people later. I appreaciate Knight's laissez faire approach, but he is a lot more comfortable being nude around other people (I assume both guys and girls) than I am and than I imagine many others are. I have found that once I get used to a situation getting undressed isn't a problem anymore (like getting changed before a workout), but the same isn't true for other situations.

BUT that doesn't really extend to accepting raging hard-ons in a public place. Obviously if it'sa one-time 'accident', it can't be helped and there's nothing to be ashamed of. If it's a regular thing, it's your fault and you've got to condition yourself. No wonder guys aren't going to be happy changing naked if there's any kind of sexual component to the process.

Well, for my 2 cents I am also uncomfortable in some situations having it hard (and yes, the locker room is one of them.) The only way I can "get it down" is to get my mind off of it. I realize that you can get hard without thinking of anything sexual; but try staying hard when your thinking of math problems! For me I just think up a somewhat complex math probelm and being as I am not great at math I can stay on that one problem forever. I find that it usually goes down, and on the occasions when it doesn't work you pretty much will have to learn to take the previous advice to just accept it. Hope that helps a little.
