no not that. i don't think i'm ready to guide a kid. i'm just too happy with my own independence. in some ways i'm a still a kid myself lol.
well the main thing is setting a good example.
knowing how to have fun is good.
being independent is good.

at 8 he doesn't need 24/7 attention.
he mostly needs role models and people he can talk to.

but if you're pretty sure you're not going to be happy taking it on then it's better not to get involved in his life. kids can get their hopes built up.
