Actually, worse than nothing though, the European style seems more rational and relatively closer to the natural condition of a normal penis. Wondering why the American style was invented and has become a nationwide surgical procedure in the States.

Obviously there isn't ONE style that all Euro docs would follow, some would certainly only remove the tip like how Basque's was done, others will follow a more American (high and tight) cut, but most (especially in UK and France) seem to be low cuts which removes more or all of a mans foreskin. I would say this is actually further away from both the "natural" uncut look and the "American" style.

Most of us men in NA who were circumcised at birth were done using the Plastibell technique which is faster to do. It also leaves the signature high cut since a low cut would not be possible due to that particular method. It gives the signature "American" cut, high and tight, frenulum remaining and a smooth look.

But most European men aren't cut at birth and are usually done later in life for medical reasons or personal choice. The methods used on children cant be used past a certain age, and the doctors must do a freehand circumcision with a scalpel which is where the ability to do the euro "low" cut comes from. If its done freehand the doctor can leave as much or as little inner foreskin as he (or the patient hopefully) wants. This may be based on what he considers optimal as far as looks. In an adult the frenulum might be too tight so the doctor might remove it, or he might leave it if its loose enough. Some consider it to be less visually appealing if its left. Personally i'd always go for function over form. There's no point in having a great looking cock if you cant get hard or cum with it.

Proportionately based on all this you're going to end up with the majority of North American men who's circumcised cocks look one way since almost all were done using the same method at birth and the majority of circumcised European men who had it done as an adult using a different method look another way.

I definitely fit the American style, but I would love to be able to experience the feeling of the other style, or how it feels to be uncircumcised...

A lot of guys feel that way, but the grass is always greener on the other side right? You're lucky, you've got a lot more foreskin left then a lot of guys and you've got your frenulum too.... thats win win.

What is often a characteristic of European cut is that there is almost no trace of the former mucus membrane, even if there is not much skin left, if any.

My ex got "cut" because of problems with his frenulum tearing all the time. His foreskin would not retract enough and would tear when masturbating or during sex. He went to speak with a urologist about it who suggested circumcision. He also spoke to a friend of mine who is a dermatologist in Prague who had a different solution. He lasered off his frenulum leaving his foreskin completely intact but allowing it to now slide freely. It was win win to him. He keeps his foreskin and now can play without any pain. Has anyone else had this type of procedure? Granted, he doesn't have his frenulum but at least he has his foreskin - which, btw, can stay back if he wants it to.

Having experienced sex with , then without and now with some foreskin again, I think I can say that possessing foreskin does not add anything noticeable to my pleasure either during masturbation or copulation! On the other hand, my frenulum is so sensitive that I would never choose to be without it!
I know something now that I wish I had known before I was cut! A tight foreskin can be made looser by stretching exercises or by surgical perforation. Simply loosening the foreskin seems far more desirable/less invasive to me than removing it!

Another friend, a Canadian, had a similar procedure done but years ago. His foreskin was also very tight as well and he had something similar to my ex but with a knife, not laser.

I am glad to hear that. It really takes someone who has experienced both sensations to make a differentiation about sex and circumcision.

Thing is Kenny, I am a sample of one! I would be hesitant to generalize to others what I have personally experienced! The only thing I feel certain about is that circumcision is something best left to the individual male's preference!

Basically, if you look at most North American styles of circumcision you will find that they perform what is often referred to as a 'high and tight' cut. That can be identified by the circumcision scar being an inch or more (sometimes two) up the shaft from the head of the penis. It gives very little skin movement and stimulation of the head has to be done with a well-lubricated hand.

The term "European circumcision" refers to the opposite style, "low and loose". In the UK and many other European countries the scar line is very close to the head of the penis, often around a quarter of an inch (or less) to half an inch from the corona, the rim of the 'helmet'. As a result, many guys can happily masturbate without the need for lubrication as the penis functions very much like an uncircumcised cock, often able to push some of the remaining skin over the rim of the head. In fact, when flaccid it can be very difficult to tell whether some guys have been circumcised or just have their foreskins retracted.

Unfortunately the "low" European style removes more (or all) of the inner foreskin and frenulum which are the most sensitive parts of a guys cock. They leave more shaft skin which has drastically less sensation. They say it looks nicer.

I certainly wouldn't want to trade my North American cut for a Euro one!

The euro style sounds similar to what is call the beauty cut.. a different name for the low and tight.. which use to be common in the military i believe..

as it removed all the inner foreskin and put the scar line right at the coronal ridge eliminating the two tone cock..

beauty cut
A style of male circumcision in which the cut is positioned in the coronary sulcus, typically about 5mm behind the corona of the glans. It is often referred to as "low and tight", and is considered by its supporters to give the best overall appearance.
Almost all the inner foreskin and usually the frenum are removed with this style, which may result in some loss of sensitivity. This may help to remedy premature ejaculation in some cases.

beauty cut
This is also the style that gives the best protection against most sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS.

Absolutely not. Low and loose, as I originally said. The European cut leaves loads of foreskin, so that the individual can roll a lot of it back over the glans. It's very difficult to tell whether many European guys have been circumcised or have just pulled their foreskins back. Flaccid there is usually plenty bunching up against the corona.

I never lube. It's not a problem.

My grandfather, born in 1909, had, according to my father, a very loose circumcision. When my father was born, his father, according to his wife, said that they took off too much skin (1944). I was born in 1973 and had no skin left at all. I like it this way.
