Same.Interesting perspective. I found nothing about him sexy. This guy also seemed like he wasn't even sexual, in many ways. And the mood they set for him in episode 1, how can you watch other episodes and feel like they sexualized him?
I guess we all watch things differently.
Cheap hotel and ymca rooms were available back then. Also, parks were wonderful and smelled like fresh grAs a true crime buff, Dahmer was actually quite attractive, so much so that he had this huge fan club who worshipped him after he got caught, so many serial killer groupies.
You've gotta remember we're talking 78-early 90s, back when meeting another gay guy was extremely difficult, your only options were bars or cruising toilets. Bad smells were the least of your issues and some unassuming attractive blonde geek is not gonna raise too many red flags and if you're really drunk and tells you his fridge is malfunctioning, you're probably gonna believe him and try get off and get out as quickly as possible. You're either thinking with your dick orrrr he's paying you and your desperate. Either way he doesn't register as a threat.
Also, you can't go to the cops cos they'll either beat you up or do sfa.
There's a great scene in the first or second episode where the cops thought they might have caught aids by breathing in the same air as two gay men and needing to go shower.
I don't think Jeffrey would have raised any red flags with these people until it was too late and honestly from stories, being gay back then, if you wanted to have sex with someone, you were often doing it in gross dirty smelly secret places like abandoned houses, toilets.
don’t listen to her. she’s a bottom
Coven and Hotel EPAss are impressive and pleasant. The Dahmer ass is believably creepy. The top two can’t belong to a serial killer. He’s really a dedicated actor.True it was bigger back then but he still has a sweet ass

They are telling the real story. sex is an essential part of Dahmer’s story. Not only he used it to attract his victims but he also had sex with them after there were dead. On top of all that, his repressed sexuality played a huge role on his acts. So it’s impossible to tell his story and keep the sexual parts out of itGot to episode 3 and I can't watch any more. They have sexualized him so fucking much and it's gross tbh. It also seems like they also tried to make the audience sympathise with him a bit. It's all so weird. These kind of shows capitalising on black suffering are made for majority white audiences and it's sick. They've been successful though, after seeing all the white girls and gays on social media making fancams and swooning over him. I can't deal with this shit
That's not what I'm saying. I'm talking about the clear attempt to make him a sex symbol (again), not the physical sex itself. I know they are telling a story, but this is also hollywood, they want it to be a success, for the lead role to be an icon, usually in a sexual way, because it sells and for it to be talked about non stop on social media. They knew what they were doing and it has worked. The families of the victims have also been complaining about how the show was done. They are telling the real story. sex is an essential part of Dahmer’s story. If they wanted the show to be a sucess they would promote it. Which they didn’t! lolThat's not what I'm saying. You don't think Netflix and Ryan Murphy wanted their show that cost millions and stars a very famous, successful actor to be a success? What?If they wanted the show to be a sucess they would promote it. Which they didn’t! lol
