I've used lpsg as a tour guide before, and it was a great help. Now i'm gonna try it again. Has anybody been to Malaga (in Spain) before. I've got a couple of weeks there soon and I'm trying to find out some good places for staying (hotels/apartments), food, drink , sunbathing and anything else i should know.

bless yer cotton socks!

YES! Awesome city, Picasso Museum, nice architecture, setting on the Mediterranean, and seafood. I stayed in a hotel that I found by walking the street, wasn't great...shared bathroom down a hall.

The famous beaches are more east of there...and they are very commercial...highrises and crowded.

No specific guidance on restaurants...but there are many. Its a very walkable city, lots of cats near the Roman ruins. Nice city to chill and soak up the Spanish urbanity...

Dont bother visiting Gibraltar. If you want to see southernmost Europe, go to Tarifa about 20 km east. Its much less touristy and a lot more charming. Take the TarifaJet to Tangiers...

OK... Listen to exwhysee... my visit there was much less cultured!!! :lmao:

I stayed in one of said high-rises and drank in many of the millions of bars that serve a dash of coke or lemonade with their buckets of vodka!

I only saw the horribly comercialised bit.

But that said, although it was 20 years ago it only cost £140 for 10 days full-board!
What do you expect to get for that!

My advice is to steer clear of that bit at all costs!
